1 - 4 Getting the Game Going

General Summary

The crew spends a little time catching up with contacts, alleviating stress, cleaning up the mess that is their headquarters and what-not as well as negotiating the shit show that has become the Back of the Yards for the past few days in the wake of the botched Joe Bagels hit.   While there is more and more oppertunity for work coming in, after some discussion they decide to focus on the crew. Mr. Black reports that the heroin production is going well. However, if he had some diethyl ether and some hydrochloric acid, he could take this common brown heroin and crystalize it into much more valuable white heroin.   They plan on going to Rutherford Chemicals that evening, but a couple of toughs from the Outfit show up at the garage to grill them about the Joe Bagels situation. They have nothing to share, or hide, but the goons are relentless and the interogation lasts several hours, pushing the operation timeline back to the morning and a desparate situation.   Just as the morning shift is coming into work at Rutherford Chemicals, another box truck with the company logo pulls up to the main gate. Tommy sits behind the driver's wheel of the van secured from Stan and hands over the paperwork Charlie got from Deborah. They are waved through and are able to find the right building in the sprawling complex without too much issue.   Tommy backs up to the dock and the back door slides up. The original plan to stage an accident is scrapped immediately as Luts realizes it would cause way too much attention. Sean tries to boss around some folks, but that goes equally nowhere. The situation is degrading quickly and things are not looking the best. But then Charlie springs into action and stealths two 55 gallon drums off the loading dock and into the truck and replaces them with the fake empties they brought.   And just like that, the crew is off to the next part of the chemical plant. In very short order they have two more 55 gallon drums loaded up and as Tommy turns up the radio and some cool as music they drive right out of the place without anyone even batting an eye.   The crew now has the ability to create several batches of white heroin and seems to be on a high note. They invest some time and energy into reducing their heat and stress and preparing for the profits to start flowing in.

White Horse Production

Once Mr. Black completes his first long term project on the H production, the crew will start a new 8 section clock called "White H Chemicals". They secured enough chemicals to produce multiple batches, and that is what the 8 section clock represents. Mr. Black can continue to do long term projects creating batches of white heroin until that clock is filled.

Tier/Difficulty

Dice are really never 'taken away' from a player's roll with exception of the initial Engagement roll. The Tier/Difficulty mechanic is for determining Effect. So, when the Tier I crew went up against the Tier III chemical company, they would basically be starting at No Effect on all their rolls. They get all their dice, they are just a little pissant crew in a huge ass chemical factory and therefore anything they do needs to be exceptional to have any appreciable effect.

Pushing

In addition to getting +1d to a roll, you can Push yourself (take 2 stress) to increase Effect. This is one of the ways to overcome the issue above of having No Effect in a situation. You can always push yourself to increase Effect.
