Vreles

A city state that was once part of the country Oclor. It seperated from Oclor during the battle of carnidge about 40 years ago. 
The city is well known for it's fey influence and many fairies peacefully coexist with mortals there. It's main export is mining material but they have now begon exporting textiles as well.

Human 56%, gnome 18%, dwarf 12%, fey 8%, elf/halfelf 5% and rest 1%

Government

A democracy where permanent residents can vote. Note this applies to people who own their own house and are not renting property which means mostly richer people can vote. Anyone can run for office however if they are in the city enough.

Defences

The one mountain pass is heavily guarded with outposts to the north. The sea is protected by a powerful navy while most of the city is enclosed by mountains. This leaves only the west which is blocked of by the vally of carnidge.

Industry & Trade

Mining is the main recource of the city. Here large amounds of koal can be found as well as metals and other chemicals. There is a large fishing industry which is complemented by the larger trade network. The new factories now also convert textiles from overseas.

Infrastructure

Recently the city has undergone industrialization. This includes new factories, furnaces and chemical plants. It is also the proud owner of a non magical heated bath house.

Districts

Harbour district: here ships doc and trade deals are made. 
Mining district: the mines and refineries to the north of the town.
Wimsy district: this includes many more high end taverns, brothels, parks, a feywild zoo and theathers. It is also the place where people go to make deals with the fey.
Inventers district: the place where higher of merchants invest in new technologies and chemical processes. It also houses the famous octogon of inventers a large building where inventers from over the world come to share new ideas. 
Shopping and education district: the place of normal public shops and also the place where the school and small university are located.
Tailor district: a newer district which has graitly expaned where clothing is made in large factories.

Guilds and Factions

The guild of inventors, the mining coalition and the board of fey accountability are notable guilds in the city.

History

Vreles started as a small mining vilage and grew over time. Trough aliances with local fey the city became more powerful and started fighting for it's independence from Oclor. This culminated into a war which Vreles won with its fey allies about 40 years ago.

Tourism

Most tourists either come for the inventors district or the wimsy district. Some scholors come here as well to inivestigate fey beings. 
A highlight for many visitors is the Mormoira zoo. This zoo is owned by a treent who collected many fascinating animals from the feywild and the larger world. 
The bright bog bathouse is an interestingly themed bathhouse. The establishment is run by Gled and is certainly worth a visit.

Architecture

The richer parts of the city are build from stone but the more recent housing increase is made from wood from the local forrest. The city is build much more vertically as other places and features many domes.

Geography

The city is build on a hill that leads further into the mountains.  To the east of the city a large forrest covers the land till the mountains. The mountains themselves also have many pine trees.

Climate

It is a slightly colder climate with strong winters. Cold air from the sea rizes in the mountain which couses heavy rainfall.

Wood from the local forrest, stone, metal, coal, gems and chemicals from the mines.
