Tash are humans with influences of foxes. Their faces show more subtle signs of fox influence. Ears are those of a fox upright and pointed with fur on them, they also have a tail which is mostly for balance and instead of normal nails their nails are more claw like. And lastly the eyes of Tash are those of a beast.
Tash have great adaptability to other environments. When they stay long enough in an environment their coat changes and they become resistant to prevalent dangers.
Even with this adaptability their numbers are still small. Tash are not unique to
Ocros but most of them do reside there.
Basic Information
Tash are well adapted for many environments on land. From desserts, forests to the poles.
Tash are omnivorous. But their teeth leen slightly more carnivorous.
Additional Information
The hearing of Tash is remarkably strong.
Civilization and Culture
Firstnames: Females are usually named after flowers or birds
Male are usually named after their grandfather
Lastnames: Males take their fathers firstname with – los, so if the father is called Marnin the last name of the son will be Marninlos
Females take their mothers firstname with – mes, so if the mother is calles Rose the last name of the daughter will be Rosemes
The fur they have is very important, the fluffier the tail and the ears the better! Especially for females the ear plume is important, a longer plume is considered a sign of good health.
Usually the parents decide who you marry, so most of the marriages are arranged marriages. Sometimes the parents will listen to what a son is asking for (if he takes a liking to a specific girl, the parents might want to talk to her parents if she is of high enough decent)
Tash very rarely have romantic relationships with other races, but it happens.
Tash NEVER wear black voluntarily. As it stands for all things negative! Even at a funeral clothing will never be completely black but will consist of multiple shades of grey.
The only exception from that is if a person is considered cursed. Or some of the weird necromancers, who are cast out of the community, for black will attract negative energy.
Some others will have a meaning as well:
Yellow: Celebration.
Red: female Tash are only allowed to wear red when they are considered adult (at the age of 16 they will go through a ritual after which they count as adult and ready for marriage)
Purple: is reserved for the monks (monks wear different shades of purple according to their status)
It is not a rule, but usually you can say: the lighter color the clothing is the richer/higher ranged the Tash.
Most tash will cover their legs whether it be with a long robes, or trousers or dress.
Most Tash live in tribes, some are nomads some live in small self-sustained villages.
All female Tash have to partake in a ritual at the age of 16 after which they are considered adult. The ritual is a multiple day event in these days a group of Girls of the same age have to complete a marathon consisting of some difficult household chores including:
A march with a vase of water on their head trough tough landscape
Weaving a carpet (which they take with them if they get married later)
Sowing a set of festive clothes
Preparing a feast for the whole family
After completing this marathon there will be a big party with all the food the girls have made, they will be wearing the clothes they made.
At the party they have to perform the traditional dance of that specific tribe.
Tash are know for their ability to adapt to any climate, their fur color changes to white in winter and cold and grows longer. In the dessert their fur usually is light brown/sand color and acts as a protection against the desert heat.
But some Tash do not change color this way, this is most likely a mutation, but in Tash culture this is a curse and depending on the color of the fur the curse is worse.
It the fur stays dark a tash will most likely be cast out of their tribe and will be considered a bad omen.
