Glow Forest
Also called ‘The Forest of Glimmers’, this region hosts a higher number of bioluminescent plants and fungi than any other known place on this scale. Scores of trees, vines, and mushrooms radiate a dull glow of colours that illuminate the forest floor. Darkness never truly sets here as, even after sundown, there is still enough light to manoeuvre without assistance. Plantlife pulsates with waves of hues that attract big round bumblebees and opalescent butterflies. Falling fruits flash out like beacons as they impact the ground, signalling the detritivores their meals are ready. Snails and Isopods, each as big as a coconut, scurry and slither towards the fallen fruits and leaves, their shells refract the light in fantastic patterns like a kaleidoscope.
