Nsitonga

Nsitonga is a small island in the centre of the Sunlit Horizon and one of the most dangerous. It is known for its vast array of carnivorous nocturnal animals that live in the caverns. Like other northern islands, all outdoor Nsitani activities have to stop by sunset so that the locals do not get eaten.

Geography

Nsitonga has a rough landscape and hot climate. The ground is rocky and jagged, so it is harder to pave some paths through the island. Most of the island has some cliffs and small mountains. Because it is close to the northern islands of Isinoki and Kinjalo, Nsitonga is also a desert filled with canyons.   The island is also full of precious resources and minerals, and the Nsitani are known for their adventurous spirit. Many minerals are deep within the caverns, so expeditions are quite common. Travellers and adventurers often stop by the island to see if they can get the minerals and survive the harsh climates.   Because Nsitonga sits on the Equator, strange things are said to happen on the island. Every so often, a relic from a distant land ends up on the shore, and the people who are close take the treasure for themselves.

People

Not many people live in Nsitonga. The Nsitani are the only people there and they have a small population. Unlike other parts of the Sunlit Horizon, they do not have towns, but they have villages scattered all over the island. Most villages are near the caverns so that the Nsitani have easy access to their local treasures. But that also means the nocturnal creatures have easy access to the villages.
