Thri-kreen

Another highly regional species unlikely to make the jump to full members of Dalian society, Thri-kreen resemble giant humanoid grasshoppers. They live in swarms in the Kanab Flats, and can make themselves invisible- although their natural camouflage is usually more than enough to keep them hidden from casual eyes. They speak to each other in their own language, and tend to keep to themselves, although they have been known to come to the rescue of lost Goliath children or travellers. Thri-kreen prefer to hide than fight, but will initiate combat if they feel threatened or have no way to hide. They seem fundamentally uninterested in civilisation, although they do craft their own chitinous weapons and seem to live in well constructed burrow-homes within some of the gorges hidden in the Flats.
