The limits of knowledge- Flora and Fauna
Daly is huge, and consists of every known biome.
There are still large areas of the Kingdom that are considered 'The Wilds', and these areas could hold any number of undiscovered species, as those who enter them for research purposes tend to disappear.
Harder still is separating story from fact. Is the villager spouting wild tales of a near escape from a three headed monster at the river talking about a hydra, a chimera, or a tangle of merrow? Or simply a vision brought on by copious amounts of brandy to stave off the tedium of fishing? Even worse- something completely new that we have no knowledge of?
Within this section are articles on the known species in Daly- those that have been identified and verified by independent scientific methods.
Please note- this section excludes the Common Races and Rare Races who make up the citizenry of Daly (note- Rare in this context reflects their proportion of the Dalian census, rather than their frequency of occurrence in the world), and also does not go into the Forbidden and Mythological Races, although many would (and have) argued that several of those races should mayhap be placed in the 'Sapient Species' subsection here, as although there is do doubt they are sapient and can be considered as a race, they are frequently considered more akin to monsters than people. The known Fauna & Flora of Daly in this section are roughly split into Sapient Species, Monsters, Beasts and Plants. Hard evidence of new species is always welcomed by either the Mages at West Bour or the Royal College in Grantshawk.
