Dwarovtár (dwɒrovtaːr)
The Dwarovtár is a gigantic gate next to the northern borders of Krenhold. The gate's been placed behind a giant scar of a pit, giving it a natural moat of lava. Even though Dwarovtár has a bridge that can be lowered, it hasn't been done in millennia. It is decorated with the large face of the Dwarf that suggested its construction, and the many smaller faces of those that died building it.
Many don't realize that the only thing standing between their peaceful lives and another invasion of orcs is a gate built a long-long time ago, and the blood of many dwarves protecting it...
Purpose / Function
Originally it was built to hold back the Green Horde, and stop the extinction of Dali. It's never been breached since, so the purpose pretty much stands, as a proud achievement of Dwarves.
Alterations
Renovations and reinforcements on the wall.
History
It was built during the fall of the Empire of Dwarovar, who having experienced the onslaught of the Green Horde weren't confident in the wall stopping them. The nation collapsed during this apocalypse, never having seen its success, which might have been enough to keep it together.
Tourism
It's a grand historical landmark and world wonder.
