Infernium
Properties
Material Characteristics
This demonic metal is a deep, blood red.
Physical & Chemical Properties
Infernium is warm to the touch. When it saves, it saves 10 points lower than steel.
Weapons made from Infernium deal 3 points of fire damage, but for every plus on the weapon, they also deal an additional 2 points of fire damage (e.g. a +3 sword would deal +12 damage).
Armor made from Infernium is 90-100% fire-resistant. Roll a d10 upon creation or discovery to determine the final result. Armor is also 5 points lower on armor class than normal armor of its type (e.g. full plate would give a bonus of 14 to armor class).
Every plus on armor gives a point of Thorns, meaning that every melee attack against the armor deals a point of damage to the attacker per point of Thorns.
Armor worn would keep the wearer warm under most circumstances. This means that the wearer would not get cold in the mountains of the north, but they would take half damage from cold spells.
The melting point of Infernium is so high that it is typically not melted down outside of the Hells.

Geology & Geography
This material can be found throughout the Hells. It is a demonic metal that can be found in the ground, although it is only found fairly deep, usually no higher than 800 feet below the surface.
History & Usage
Everyday use
Weapons and armor
Refinement
Infernium is commonly found in small clusters, so it must be melted down to purify it and get it in large pools so that it may be made into larger items.
Hazards
Melting infernium creates a thick, red gas that is poisonous to most creatures aside from devils. After infernium has been melted down from ore, it releases most of its toxic gases. Melting down an item made from infernium doesn't release enough gas to kill the average human, but it does reduce their Constitution by half for about a week.
Distribution
Trade & Market
There are devil smiths in the Hells that sell infernium weapons and armor, but aside from that, you typically won't find it being sold anywhere else. If found, it is usually on the body of another devil.
