Howling Forest

Geography

This semi dense forest is at the corner of the continent to the norteast, near the great Iron Citadel of the Dwarven race, cover aproximately 6 m squares in extensión.

With a subtropical climate and a vast amount of natural resources, wood and a lot of fruits, all the local travelers know better than try to exploit them and the non locals, almost every time, realize the error of trying to late.

The flora of the forest consist in ancient trees and flowers, at least at a glance anyone can see the 15m ferns and the "cicas" at theri bases.

Its well know that a river go throuth the forest, many are sure thats the main reason this is not a comercial or traveling rute.

The other special feature this forest ofer is his "strangely" rocky coverly floor.

Fauna & Flora

No one has survive long enough in the forest to classify or study it.
The hostories around the forest are not for to scare childrens but to warn about venturing in it.
Besides he normal fauna of a forest three major species fight for the supremacy of this region:

Dire Wolves

Know as the "howling" pack this dire wolves are subjet of legend, because not only the size and strenght this race posses but cause the are stremely cunning. Is well know tale about the company of dwarven minatour soldiers that run away from a confrontation with these "devilish" creatures as the tale afirms. Even to the date common people think is something supernatural involved like a shapeshifting sentien being, werewolf or even they are god touched creatures. The howling of the pack at night can be listened kilometers away.

Basilisk

The few people that venture to the interior of the forest describe the ambient as "silent as a tomb" if not for the howling, but the one thing one scholar can figure it out is the floor covered with strange rocks; strange because are like "broken statues" of creatures, the forest is the home for basilisk. The rocks are the rest of their petrified victims.

Sword Spiders

These are a very rare type of giant spider. Not as big as a dire wolf or as dangerous as the basilicks but they are fierce and his sword like frontal legs make them a formidable opponent even for the thick stone like skin the basilisks have. Few know about this threat because few are the ones that look up at the trees. They will find an intingated network of cobwebs, and those who see it think that is snow or ice because the proximity to the north.

Natural Resources

This forest has at leat 100 different species of mammals, birds and fish that can be food.
Its a real virgin forest because no one, at least recorded in history, has chopped down a tree in here.
The soil is the most fertile in at least a 10 km around. Having different types of fruit trees.
