Halgug Golden-Eye Jr is a Half-Orc pirate, smuggler, treasure hunter and outlaw, named after his great-uncle Halgug Golden-Eye Sr, a legendary scourge of the seas. Halgug Jr currently captains the Azure Siren and it's crew. Good of heart but highly mediocre at his chosen vocation, Halgug frequently missteps when it comes to matters of piracy and crime, leading to him and his crew being frequently broke, barely able to run their ship. However, Halgug is very likeable, so can always find employment for the Siren and her crew (even if it is just menial transport work). His upbeat personality and honesty allowed him to become an ally of The Fool's Menagerie when transporting them to Elvastad for their first mission.
Halgug stands at around 6 foot and 8 inches tall. He dresses in a style that is both modest and show-off-ish; the classic regalia of a pirate. For example, he wears a nice ring on every finger, however only ever actually wears inexpensive but functional tunics, vests and breeches. A striking visual feature of Halgug is his prosthetics. Despite his short time actually being a pirate, he has managed to lose his right hand and left leg. His leg is a simple peg-leg design, but his hand is much more fascinating. It is a fully articulate, beautifully carved beech-wood prosthetic that works exactly like Halgug's old hand. When asked on where he found such an ingenious design, Halgug only ever says that he "found it in Pamokuu" before launching into one of his several different wild stories to explain the hand's origins.
Halgug acquired his current ship, the Azure Siren, after stealing it from the crime lord and ruler of the city of Elvastad, Manushya, whom Halgug may have had a brief romantic relationship with before the theft.
