Karameikos

As the party gathers in Luln, it is clear that discontent is in the air. This far from the Thyatian border and the capital, revolution is the word on everyone's lips, but on which side will the players fight?   Karameikos is a country on the brink of a three-way civil war:

The native Traladarans have massive popular support in the rural areas and know the terrain but lack funding and organization.

The occupying King Stefan currently has a firm hold over the Thyatians within his borders but will be forced to fight a war on two fronts.

The invading Thyatians are numerous and well equipped but they have no experience of the terrain and enemies they will be facing.

With the lines being drawn in the sand, it would be easy for the party to find and join any of these factions, but some leaders still sit on the fence, either out of concern for their people or themselves. Purely combat orientated parties may find themselves being sent to reinforce a failing defense or clear an enemy encampment as disposable pawns, while more subtle parties might engage in intrigue or theft, attempting to gather information or sway unknown elements. In any case however, volatility breeds opportunity.
