Gunpowder

The hunter studies his prey for a second before dropping from his perch, smashing the head of the hammer directly through the skull of an rotting troll before spinning and pulling the trigger on the haft of the weapon. With a thunderous roar, a gout of flame and shrapnel explodes from the head of the weapon and shreds the zombies surrounding him.

Utility

Gunpowder is regularly used in grenades and guns by many of the Hunters, as well as the Palace Guards.

Manufacturing

Gunpowder requires the mixing of powdered sulphur, charcoal, and niter, in precise quantities.

Access & Availability

Only elite Hemian units have access to gunpowder on the unknown continent, such as the hunters and the palace guard.

Complexity

Gunpowder is fairly simple to synthesise, however it is fairly unintuitive to research and as such is generally only ever discovered by experimental alchemists, who often consider it to be little more than a curiosity compared to magic.

The secret of gunpowder was given to Falarn Thornwood by Mephistopheles himself, who craved the secrets of his unique and advanced potions.
