Session 7 + 8: The Revelia

General Summary

• The Revelia, Knowbody's pocket dimension, has reached the High Throne, turning it into the Big Top, a version of the High Throne, twisted by Knowbody's deranged magic.
• The party marches towards the Big Top, but on their way, they come across a laboratory that belongs to Dr. Sophia Stella, The Chandler of Flesh.
• They discover Knowbody's disdain and distrust for fey creatures, that Sophie shares in these harsh ideaologies and that they wish for fey to never rule any land in the Material Plane.
• Dr. Sophia invites them to step through her teleportation circle which would lead directly to the Big Top, but with a warning: the party may go to talk with Knowbody, but if she needs to, she can always get to the Big Top.
• The party arrives at the Big Top and engages in an intense conversation with Knowbody.
• They hear it from Knowbody's mouth for the first time that he hates the fey and doesn't want any fey ruling any land in Cynthia. He also reveals that he already has the High Throne in captivity.
• The party mostly (yet reluctantly) agrees, and makes a deal with Knowbody, that if Knowbody kills the High Throne, he must leave Belrynna, never to return. Knowbody agrees without a second thought, and signs a contract.
• In an instant, discussion goes sour, as one of the party members launches a ray of frost spell at Knowbody.
• Combat ensues, and Dr. Sophia keeps to her warning, returning to the Big Top in no time at all.
• Knowbody's goal is not simply stop the party though; his goal in combat is still to slay the High Throne. Dr. Sophie is there to apprehend the party and make sure Knowbody can do it.
• Knowbody is still successful in killing the High Throne, but the party is not without their losses. Squeak's son Thumper is slain by Sophie and turned into a wax statue.
• In furious retribution, Squeak beheads Dr. Sophia. The Chandler of Flesh becomes a pile of flesh.

The Illusion Fades

• Then the illusion begins to fade. Reality around the party begins to shift and quake.
• Everyone is still in the Big Top, but the High Throne, alive, comes back into view. Thumper appears next to Squeak. Dr. Sophia's body isn't there, as if she never interceded at the Big Top. An illusion of Helpie appears to the party, lifts up his helmet of blind righteousness, and looks to them in horror.
• Thumper calls out to his father in a shaken voice, "Dad, I don't want to die."
• The combat has ceased, but the tension has only risen.
• Knowbody confronts the party and tells them that this was once again a vison. A test. And they failed.
• The discussion starts again, only this time, the party discusses a plan with Knowbody to simply force them into a binding contract that will exile them both from the Material Plane.
• Through fear of their lives, they sign the binding contract. But not before vowing revenge on Knowbody and anyone in the party that was willing to kill or exile them. They won't be able to return, but they will send adversaries to their lands and their families. This is not over.

Return to Dominion

• After resting and recooperating on the party's airship, the Obelisk Octet sets sail back for the City of Demons.
• Once there, they go on a bounty run to find Akkadia, The Mirror Mage, a infamous thief wanted in a few different countries and cities.
• They venture to her mother's mansion, and find Akkadia and engage her in combat.
• After bringing her to submission, the party discovers that Akkadia's "duplicates" are not magic conjurations at all, but real people. They're related. And their mother is in dire need.
• Sunder heals the mother of her terminal illness, and discovers that Akkadia was told about the Eden Fruit, and about Dominion, assumably from someone in Providence. They spare Akkadia, her sisters, and her mother, and take her pendent to convince Beto Changretta that she was taken care of.
• Before they can figure out why, they return to Dominion with the pendant, and a dragon tears through the sky. Beto stands in the street, surrounded by the Changrettas, and calls out, "Alright, y'all! This is what we've been waiting for! Get ready!"
