Session 4: Dominion, City of Demons
After the party expertly base jumps into Faith's End, discovers the Obelisk, and meets Caecus Bellamor, the party grows slightly uneasy with a man with access to so much power and influence. They ask him more pressing questions and get a better understanding of who he is as a man, a leader, and an idealist, as well as a better understanding of his plan with the Eden Fruit. (The cumulative knowledge that the party has on Caecus Bellamor is in the article on this unique NPC).
This session was fairly short and more roleplay based, but the party did learn a lot of important information, and was given two leads on jobs to do in the city.
1) The Fabri family, who leads the arcane and engineering of the city -- and who has many members of the The League of the Mind in their ranks -- has had an expensive painting stolen from them and they would like it back. The painting, called the Constantori's Portrait, is believed to omit strange, occultish, black magic and was stolen by the Fabris before it was subsequently taken from them. The head of the family, and a member of the Six, Cazamir Fabri, will pay the party a handsome amount if they can return the painting to them, and maybe a few extra crowns if they rid themselves of the thieves' guild guilty of the theft.
2) The second lead is a bounty given to the party by a well-loved barkeep of the Good Knight's Rest. A bugbear and a goblin duo named Pork and Bean have been committing crimes in Dominion, and rather than tell the authorities, the barkeep would much rather outsource the job to adventurers. If the party deals with Pork and Bean, and returns to the barkeep with proof, he will pay the party accordingly.
