Hazards
In the Feywild, everything is suffused with a powerful magical energy, producing strange -- sometimes dangerous -- effects. Travelers in the Feywild might encounter any of the following:
Euphoric Mists: Strange mists, which the feykind fondly call the "Yesteryear Brume", regularly arise from the low-lying morrs and hollows of the Feywild. Those who enter these unusual mists feel themselves lost in the haze of time, nostalgically remembering events of their childhood and happy moments of their pasts.
However, many become lost in the reminiscing, and remain for hours or even days, forgetting to eat, drink, or even sleep, eventually losing their lives, wholly entranced by their visions.
Free Will: The Feywild abhors tyranny in any form, to the extent that the realm itself actively fights against it. Whenever a creature attempts to control another using magic in the Feywild, whether by summoning, creating life, dominating, the geas spell, or any other means, there is a decent chance that the attempt fails, and the creature is instead free to do as it please. Conjuration wizards are to be cautious what they summon to their side within this realm, as there's no telling what they will do with their freedom.
Surging Power: In some parts of the Feywild, the very air hums with magical energy. When a spell is cast in these areas with the intent to do damage, the spellcaster may be surprised at the spell operating more effectively than they had expected. The downside, however, is the magic is also harder to control in these areas and concentration becomes harder.
Contracts: It is not only possible but incredibly easy -- and frighteningly so -- to accidentally stumble into the binds of a contract with a Fey denizen. The multitude of ways one could become indebted to a fey would take its own tome to list completely, but some examples include: breaking one of the rules of the Fey, giving a powerful denizen your true name, promising r making an oath (or even saying the words, "I promise" with no real intent of swearing an oath), accepting a gift from the fey, stealing something, or taking the life of a creature that had past debts.
