Daegon, God of Strength
Daegon is the god of slaughter, violence, and war. He is hatred unrestrained, empathy denied, and mercy forgotten. Soldiers fear succumbing to his bloodlust lest they dishonor themselves, but the vengeful and forsaken call to him for the gift of his rage. He is the brother of Serephina, Goddess of Victory, and her antithesis in matters of warfare and battle.
Daegon, like his sister, governs the sphere of war. But while Serephina thrives on the glory of honorable victory, Daegon revels in sadism, destruction, and the utter humiliation of the vanquished.
Some may wonder why Daegon sided with the High Deities instead of the Betrayer gods, as seemingly Daegon is the god of senseless bloodshed, but to assume that of the Strength God would be forsaking his ideals. Daegon is the patron of those who seek retribution in areas where Akarat wouldn't dare travel. He's not a senseless killer, but he does deal with conflict in a matter others would deem as evil. Punishing those who blasphemed against the gods during the Age of Arcanum made sense, but wiping out all mortals down to a fraction, killing countless innocents beyond necessity was foolish.
Ideals/Domains: Strength, war, vengeance, zeal. Daegon teaches his followers that a battle is not truly won until you crush your enemies' hope under the crushing weight of your heavy hand. Daegon prides himself as the one sought out by those whom Akarat and Serephina have failed.
