Caelum, God of the Sun
Caelum is the first on this list of the lesser deities. Caelum is the god of the sun, and moves as fast as time itself. While sun gods from other world religions are depicted as personifying the righteousness of light and the sun, Caelum embodies something entirely different. Righteousness and justice is Akarat's domain. To put it simply, Caelum embodies the movement of the sun, and thus the movement of time itself. As the sun races across the sky, so too does time charge forward. It is Caelum's duty to race before time, carving the path for it to flow.
Those who worship Caelum are usually those about to set forth on a journey, as they see Caelum as their ultimate pathfinder of the gods. Nomads and gypsies greatly revere the sun god.
Caelum also serves as a diplomat between the other gods, and as such, is allowed unfettered travel throughout the realms of the gods. Relationally speaking, Caelum is said to have the best relationship with Eikko, and they would consider themselves close brothers. Legend says that when Caelum and Eikko race, it is a spectacle to behold. This legend has given rise to the two top olympic teams in the mortal world of Cynthia, the Caelians, and the Eikkosians, both named after the gods that often have great competition between one another.
Ideals/Domains: Light, solidarity, twilight, zeal. Caelum believes in the importance of spending your time wisely, but he also encourages rest, since there is a time when the sun sets. He also inspires wanderlust and adventure in his followers, as these ideals are essential to living life to the fullest.
