Unione Milanese
A collective of organized crime operations, originally born out of but now distinct from the Italian Mafia in that it mostly focuses on businesses that would be legitimate if not for corporate monopoly laws.
The Unione mostly exists for the mutual protection of its participants; they pool their resources both economical and physical to defend against attacks by the government, corporations, and other criminal organizations. They are technically criminal and thus sometimes act as such, but they tend towards the grayer/”lighter” side of crime.
Structure
As the Unione originated as a branch of the Italian Mafia, it follows a similar leadership structure. The entire organization is lead by a Boss, to whom several District Underbosses report. Individual Caporegimes, or Captains, of separate operations report to these Underbosses, and agents/soldiers of those operations report to their individual Capo in turn. In the Mafia, each Capo runs a single family, but in the Unione each Capo is in charge of a business operation instead.
In addition, there are consiglieres, who are advisers and administrators working for the Boss or an Underboss. These individuals are highly respected and wield a lot of power, but they are not considered to be a direct part of the leadership structure.
The District Underboss of the area including Corsico is Chessman.
