44 Via Armando Diaz
The 44 Armando building is one one of three large, old office buildings on the piazza.
The first floor has shop fronts, including Euphoratorium, MAREDORO, and Comodo Dragon Deli.
The second floor is taken up entirely by Donovan's Irish Pub.
The offices of Faust & Whitmore are on the third floor, along with Lexicon Services and apartments currently occupied by Faust, Lincoln, and Lexicon.
The fourth through seventh floors are used by Liberty Immigrant Services Center.
Architecture
Originally built in the 1950s, the building is done in dark brick and wrought iron, with a flat face looking towards the Piazza and short wings at shallow angle from the main section. It is a part of a continuous city block made up of connected buildings that enclose a series of parking lots in the back. There is a gated driveway on the Armando side that allows vehicles to pass through the building and to the parking lot in the back, where ramps slope down towards the covered parking area underneath the building itself.
The front of the building is dominated by large windows and small balconies, six on each floor above the first. The back is flat, with two covered, set-in balconies on each side of each floor. Faust and Lincoln's apartments have two of these balconies each.
The floor plan of the 3rd floor of the building, above, is a good example of the building layout on all floors above the ground floor. The main staircase is front and center and is accessed from the main entrance off the Piazza. There is an elevator behind the stairs, as well. In addition, there is a smaller stairwell on the Armando side. This is meant mostly as a second fire escape staircase, but it is often used by Lincoln's clients if they don't want to be seen entering the front door of the building.
On the ground floor, Comodo Dragon Deli takes up the entire right side of the building, while the left side is split between Euphoratorium and MAREDORO.
