Cyberware

Cyberware is the generic term for electronic or other kinds of technology that is surgically implanted in the body to enhance performance. Rigger jacks are an example of cyberware, as are artificially enhanced eyes. There are multiple kinds of cyberware for various parts of the body. There is a myth that if someone gets too many cyber enhancements that they become no longer Human and lose all of their humanity. In reality, the Human body can take only so many replacement parts before it ceases to function,, killing the recipient of the implants.

Cyber replacement eyes are one of the most common types of cyberware. Many enhancements may be performed utilizing a person's organic eyes, while others require that the eye be replaced by a mechanical version. Some of the simple enhancements include lowlight or thermal vision, targeting, and cosmetic enhancements, such as color or patterns in the iris. More advanced enhancements include optical camera or video recorder, and visual computer monitor so that a person can see what would be on their computer monitor projected onto the inner eye.

Cybernetic hearing is another popular mod, orimarily enhanced hearing. Fingertip rigging jacks, bone plating, enhanced muscles; these are but a few of the possible cybernetic enhancements that are possible to get at your local chop shop. Internal radio transmitters are popular, especially in conjunction with optical camera implants.
