Major anti-fae groups retaliate to the protests with violence, while some fae groups forceably take over sections of cities, causing panic and the beginning of war.

As the vote results are called, many places don't pass the decision to give fae equal standing with humanity. This sparks widespread protests and riots, which military forces and anti-fae power retaliate to with violence -- causing panic and the beginning of war.   In the violence, cities are destroyed and taken over by foliage and transport is largely unavailable. The Factions become more organised and the Cleansed are officially named as such. Anti-fae groups, still weak when compared to elven magic, are quickly pushed back to the city cenres and begin constructing barricades there. The violence, in those places where the vote didn't pass, is devastating.
