Tiatholon Naval Strategy

Far from the Terran heartlands, naval forces stationed in Tiatholon Province have needed to adapt to its native manufacturing capability and available infrastructure in order to retain a military force capable of defending the furthest reaches of Terran borders. Along the way, their military capability and doctrine has altered based on their resources and immediate threats.     . Major Threats   Tiatholon is, ultimately, a stopgap between Polaris and Gracenhove and has little to gather interest in its defence. However, nearby is the Empire of Summer and their powerful, schwerpunkt-influence navy built to win direct engagements with kinetic weapons.   In addition, to their galactic south is a nest of smaller locations such as Terra Nova and the Atoll, as well as a preferred recruiting ground of the Alliance of Free World. All of these minor factions have developed some capability in guided weapons, often very heavy barrages of hard to intercept torpedo or high-yield missile armaments.     . Limitations (WIP PLEASE WRITE UP)   atrophied capabilities relative to home provinces   garrison and peacekeeping requirements   influx of pirates from south and nonexistent imperial support ordinarily   both a blunt-instrument peer adversary and torpedo-happy nearby opponents     . Doctrine (WIP PLEASE WRITE UP)   Large missiles of their own, to compete with Atoll and hold targets away   flexible heavy laser weapons as standard combat tools, especially in slugging matches with Sestians   sensor envelope a priority, especially in detecting incoming weapons   distributed fleet elements and escorts as standard, including drone strikecraft, to maximise detection     . Build Strategy (WIP PLEASE WRITE UP)   heavy use of cruisers with lighter warships for flexible (including ad-hoc) deployments   all-forward weapons layout, unlikely to be flanked by direct combat threats   beamrider capacity - using lasers in CW mode to push missiles as a range extension tool, outranging enemies on a budget   carriers as drone launchers with extensive support equipment, effectively the battlefleet's command/control/comms and intel hub   strikecraft are unmanned and sensor-laden. includes mirror repeater drones capable of extending range of both combat and beamrider lasers
