Village of Barovia

The Village of Barovia is oftentimes the first sign of civilization stumbled upon by those brought through the mists and into the land of Barovia. Mist and darkness fill the empty streets of this village, giving it an unsettling and forbidding appearance. At the center of the village lie the general store Bildrath's Mercantile and the Blood of the Vine Tavern . While the store is only sporadically visited, the tavern does seem to do well, for the denizens of Barovia will brave the dark streets in order to get the lifeblood of the vine.



South of the general store lies a home where a woman can be heard crying within. Farther south is the clawed and beaten exterior of the Burgomaster's Mansion. To the north lies the village church and graveyard, Donavich's Church. On the eastern edge of the village stands a mysterious house, now reduced to a smoldering ruin, but signs of it rebuilding itself are clear to anyone who watches the ruin. This is the infamous Death House which has permanently ended many adventuring parties. Its latest iteration left two survivors...
