Vallaki

The town of Vallaki is the largest population center in Barovia. It lies nestled in a valley to the west of Castle Ravenloft. To the north lies Lake Zarovich and to the west is the Luna River that flows from Lake Zarovich to Luna Lake in the far south of Barovia. The current burgomaster of Vallaki is Baron Vargas Vallakovich. He considers himself to be one of Strahd's foremost enemies, and has ordered his townspeople to be happy, as happiness is what will keep the devil Strahd at bay. Known for his trademark phrase "All will be well," the burgomaster sees to it that all his citizens echo his phrase, or they may see themselves thrown in the stocks for "malicious unhappiness"
It is clear that not all is well within this town.
