Uptown Park

A small industrial park, Uptown Park was originally set aside by members of the Whitmarsh family in 1922 as a maneuver to halt intrusion into the area by Campus bloat. It has a central fountain with a plaque dedicating it to the memory of Albert and Nevina Whitmarsh, several square marble seats, and a couple of small walkways past horticultural display beds. It is most often frequented by secretaries, college students, and professional workers looking for a bit of air. As with all parks, it is also neutral ground for dogs and cats.
