Reverend Phillips Papers

Those hoping to find more information about the various ritual magics and rites known to Rev. Phillips may learn that his papers have been divided between the Orne Library and the First Baptist Church in New Jerusalem. The former papers — mostly drafts of sermons but including several letters by Phillips — are kept in the Rare Books room. The remainder of Phillips' papers, including his personal notes and a partial handwritten draft of Thaumaturgical Prodigies itself are kept in New Jerusalem's First Baptist Church's archive.   The papers’ respective custodians will need to be convinced of the utility of their work to consult them; academic credentials and being seen as an upstanding local citizen will all factor into this decision. These notes contain additional information about darker matters and, combined with a study of Phillips' book, grant an additional insight into such. They require two weeks of study or four hours to skim. They are difficult to read and make sense of due to the Reverend’s eccentric handwriting.   Rev. Phillips' personal notes also include information about the magic he encountered during his work. The specific incantations included are:
  • Bletsian a Blade
  • Cank'r of Crops and Beasts
  • Speaketh through the Candle
  • Causeth Disease
  • Summon the Black Man
  • Calleth up the Consume'rs of the Dead
  • To Meeteth with Yogge-Sotot
  • Enchant Popet
