A devastating earthquake struck the northern edge of the city of Khazigur in 12002, collapsing major sections of the city.

Just after sunrise, the beaches and docks of the northern coast began to shudder and vibrate; the silty/sandy soil underwent a de facto liquidation and all the large structures built into it - including significant portions of the House Absolute - collapsed and/or sank into the soil. Major aftershocks continued for hours. An estimated 13,000 people were killed outright, and nearly five times that number succumbed to their injuries or to complications such as infections after the earthquake.
