Trapped Celestial Rescued by Baron Council in NE Khazig

DATELINE: 17 Aishapriel's Month, 12090: New Fulgur Build Site, Volsin Province, Khazig   The rapid construction of the airtight bowl in the region of Stillwater appears to have been in response to an unspecified but significant planar threat to the region, connected with the rumored disappearance of either Oriel or Auriel from the Pancelestial Cathedral dome. Reports say that a brief but fierce battle involving a high number of magic-users and planar mages, including the Autarch's own Doctor Dee, were involved in the fight against a major fiendish entity, thought to be from the Far Realms or some other mostly unknowable and unpredictable realm. The Barons' Council was also directly involved in the battle, which scorched the surrounding forests already stressed by the Shadow Contagion which was no doubt related to this mysterious entity. Other than the entity, which was soundly defeated, no other loss of life was reported though several people needed to be restored from unconsciousness. The Archivist's Guild reports that these people, including a Goliath and several Dwarves from the nearby villages, suffered extensive skin damage consistent with acid burns, leading to speculation that the culprit was another black dragon like the one seen inside Khazigur itself some months ago connected to the activities of a Carpocratian Cult.   Many dragon sightings have been reported in the area as well as in the city, however these have so far all been confirmed to be metallic, and less threatening, types. Speculation that the Baron Council have been using the arena to train themselves as dragon riders can neither be confirmed or denied at this time.   Doctor Dee confirmed that a gravely injured but living celestial was recovered in the battle, and has been returned to the care of Archbishop Merigon and others at the Pancelestial Cathedral, where she is said to be stable. When asked for comment, Dee was uncharacteristically humble regarding his contributions and lavish in his praise of the Baron Council, but gave no further details regarding the injured celestial other than it was a true celestial and female in appearance. "What our empire needs are more men and women like these, eager to defend the homes and families of their realms against threats that should stir all honest people to action, and fewer researchers, dabblers and dilettantes who think that complaining is the same as taking action," Dee said. He went on to say that he planned to strongly petition the Autarch personally to invoke his right to create an Earldom, superceding the rank of Duke and Archduke, which would encomnpass the Duchies of Elkur, Ketibah and Batona Trai and name one or more of the Baron Councilors to the rank of Earl or, if female, Marquess. It's likely this move would be opposed by the Khazigiri Duchal Council for obvious reasons, but the Council of the Kings of the Empire may overrule in this case, especially as the Autarch is expected to name Bartimus Rakkir as the rightful King of the province of Naarod later this week after additional legal deliberations are complete, officially adding the title of Princess Heir of Naarod to the Baroness and possibly Marquess Camilla's list of noble titles.   In possibly related and troubling news, the Imperial Medicinists guild reports a strange condition or disease only reported in the past few days that appears to spread without any clear pattern and affects an unusually high proportion of adventurers, mercenaries and high-ranking soldiers. As of yet no deaths have been attributed to it, but it is characterized by a mottled pattern of bruising on the back and later, on the chest in front of and behind the heart, and general weakening and fatigue over time. It does not respond to bloodletting or leeching, and Doctor Dee has confirmed that a link between this condition and the outcome of the battle in Volsin is possible.
