The White Dragon Inn
The White Dragon Inn is a popular multistory tavern and hotel favored by tourists and non-stingy merchants with their tents in the market square, which it faces. Its taproom features a large taxidermized white dragon head looming over the bar. The prices are a little high for those who need to keep a tight watch on every gold piece, but the food and service levels are commensurate with the costs.
Description
This place is almost always completely packed with patrons. Inside, the tavern is heavily decorated with old and well-used weaponry and split shields and the decor is dominated by a mounted head and partial neck of Vaarsillectinon, an adult white dragon killed at Castle Coldhorn some 60 years ago by Gabrigan Pracy, grandfather of the current Baron Pracy, assisted by a group of knights; many in the town claim one or another of these lesser-known fighters was a relative of theirs. Gabrigan was said to have tried multiple ways to drive it off peacefully but it refused to go, instead attempting to extort the town for gold and livestock in return for protection, and making the old fort its lair. Thanks to Gabrigan Pracy, now Vaarsillectinon is part of the decor in the town he threatened to destroy.Innkeeper
The White Dragon is, like many popular tourist locales, owned quietly by the Zareslich family and leased to a partial investor who is paid as an employee by the family as well as earning dividends based on the Inn's income. That investor is currently a Female Goliath named Nandrini who likes to spend time somewhat incognito in the taproom or one of the two restaurants inside the structure. The staff of course know who she is, but generally the patrons do not.Menus
The White Dragon Inn actually includes two different restaurant venues; one is the main taproom with table and full bar service and the Dragon Head, and one in the understory off the lobby serving lighter trenchers and charcuterie boards with wine, baked goods and access to a series of shops on that level selling meats, cheeses, wines, food preparation items, tobacconist goods and the like.Frequent Patrons
