The Obscurati

Not a gang or syndicate as much as a vocation, the Obscurati are a shadowy network of spies, informants, and information brokers throughout the Empire and in most major settlements outside it as well. Their allegiance and support lies with the Empire, and it has long rumored to be a network cultivated by the Imperial spymasters and diplomats themselves. However the information and secrets they trade in are not merely political; they also can be tapped for fresh information on a host of other subjects and areas of interest including new visitors in town, gang activities, and the stories behind the stories in the loacal post.

Unknown; likely a few clusters of people working in teams, as well as individuals who hold no particular larger authority or agenda beyond the cultivation of secrets worth money

Public Agenda

The Obscurati are whispered about in pubs and royal greathalls alike with reverence and outright fear - these are the people who make it their business to know everything worth blackmailing someone over, and to ensure that the correct information gets to the right people - for the right price. They evidently work closely with the Steel Reciters, whose success and efficiency in assassinations has a lot to do with knowing things about their victims that other people don't.

Unknown. Rumor has long held that they keep a library of blackmail files in one of the many abandoned areas of the House Absolute.
