Mutilated Body Found In Holiday Marketplace in Temple Shores

Dateline: Khazigur Temple Shores, City Plaza; 19 Typhoneth's month, 12089: St. Nicolas Holiday festivities turned tragic tonight when a man's body was found split from throat to groin behind a textile-seller's stall on the holiday fairgrounds in Temple Market. Several suspects were questioned at length by the Varangians and Temple Shores authorities, however no witnesses to the actual crime could be found.   The body was discovered within minutes of death but has not been positively identified. The mode of dress and gear on the corpse is consistent with a lower-level member of the Quags' gang, the Past Lifers. Authorities speculate the murder was intended as a warning from the criminal elements that continue to plague the Temple Shores area, intended to warn gangs in other districts to stay away. As per the wishes of the Autarch and the Governor, no necromantic consultation will take place unless it is determined this event could constitute a city or national crisis; at this time it appears to be a gruesome but relatively minor gangland execution.   Among the questioned was the serving clerical priest of the shrine of Typhoneth inside the Pancelestial Cathedral, Grims Angel; A bounty hunter, Mott Elddir, in pursuit of an alleged thief and Drow elf, Annadir, who was also questioned; A student at the Wizard University, Baldur, and his drinking buddy Zurian, a patron of Tarshiviel; as well as the eldest daughter of the Naarodian Duke Rakkir, Camilla, a patron of Astionel.   The Holiday marketplace was briefly closed but has reopened with additional security forces on-site. This criminal act poses no threat to the general public. The fair is open from 7am to midnight throughout the three weeks of the St Nicolas holiday.
