Imperial Naming Conventions

The piling on of cultures and years has created a wide variety of family and personal names in the Empire. Many are based on religious or mythological figures, and tend to hearken either to the Cumaean period or the earlier period of the Empire itself. The Analog is Medieval Byzantium, which fed on many sources for its names - back into classical Greek antiquity, or to the eastern provinces, or as far south as Aegyptus, all united by Hellenic culture.
