Flash Item: Primarch Lemmm Found Dead in Apparent Suicide

"A shocking, heartbreaking tragedy" was the Autarch's Press Minister's initial response to the news late tonight that the Primarch, Archibishop Harinn Lemmm, was found dead in his chambers at the PanCelestial Cathedral. He was reportedly found by his chief steward who was coming at his appointed time to help the Primarch change out of his formal robes from Matins, the last prayer service of the evening, and into his night clothes. The details of the scene were not shared with the Archivists's guild, other than to establish that all signs pointed to the Primarch having taken his own life.
Primarch Lemmm began his career with the Celestii Magni clerical heirarchy as a young altar boy 56 years ago, ascending through the ranks of priests and bishopric administrators to be appointed as the highest ecumenical authority in the Empire and the faith seven years ago, in 12083. He had mentioned his intention to retire and join the ranks of the five Heirodules, the council of religious leaders who confirm the appointment of the new Autarch and preside over the funerals of officials of state, once there was an opening. Unfortunately, if his death is ruled a suicide after the preliminary Varangian Guard investigation, the Heirodules will not perform his funeral rites, as he would be considered an apostate for taking his own life and defying the rule of the Angels over justice in this life and the next.
The possibility that the Primarch could have met with foul play is not being ruled out, according to Taron Carver, head of domestic investigations, nor indeed that it could have been a tragic accident, but he was able to confirm that the circumstances seemed to indicate a self-inflicted death.
Asher Banupal, Lemmm's Senior Bishop, is expected to be appointed by the Autarch to the position vacated by the Primarch's death.
These events are sure to put a damper on the remaining rounds of the Spring Tournament, which has reached the round of 8.
