Dwarves
Dwarves are a short, stocky race; both male and female Dwarves stand around four feet tall and typically weigh around 120 pounds. They are very opinionated and will argue into the wee hours of the night with many empty mugs of ale. They have a lifespan of three to four centuries. Some believe the dwarven race are older than elves. This is a source of argument between the races.
Features
Their long hair and thick beards are dark brown, gray or black. They take great pride in their beards, sometimes braiding or forking them. They have a fair to ruddy complexion.
Dwarves have stout frames and a strong, muscular build. They are rugged and resilient, with the capacity to endure great hardships. Dwarves are typically practical, stubborn and courageous. They can also be introspective, suspicious and possessive.
Dwarves struggle to ride full size horses and often prefer ponies.
Tradition
Because Dwarves live such long lives, tradition fills their day as a way to pass along cultural information and a way to give life meaning. Focusing one's time on something requires discipline and tradition. Matching their ancestors is a great way for dwarves to prove themselves worthy of their forefathers.
Society
Dwarves prefer to live within the earth. They can often tell if the land would be good for crops just by smelling a handful of the dirt. Dwarves are equally good with stone. They are known for working stone and building amazing architecture both above and below ground.
Language
All dwarves a dialect of dwarvish and common. Most often, Dwarves also learn Gnome.
