Overview: Part 1

Structure

Exposition

Kyran: Many stories have been told throughout the years. This story takes place on a group of floating islands called the Crystal Islands. The large island in the center of the group is held up by an enormous crystal in the mountain that emits crystal energy. The others have smaller crystals and come and go every couple of years. It wasn't always like this though. The world used to live in peace, but everything except for this mountain just... fell away one day. Humanity had to almost entirely restart after The Split. after the chaos, the monarchy brought in order and all seemed to be fine. Anyways, I live in a small town called Berkathesi. There's nothing super interesting about this town. I work in a family run inn, and my friends and I go exploring around Crystal Island whenever I'm off of work. This story starts with one such adventure.

Conflict

After exploring the island one day, Kyran and his friends find a cave. Unbeknownst to the protagonist and his friends, this cave is an undiscovered back way into the Crystal Cavern, which was only accessible by government personal. After exploring for a while, they come across the Crystal Cavern. They are discovered by a guard, and all but Kyran are caught. Somehow, Kyran feels a certain, unknown power and is able to save his friends. Kyran throws a fire ball to scare the guard away. Kyran's friends were unable to tell that Kyran was using some sort of magic. Kyran and his friends escape the cave, and they decide not to tell anyone what happened.

Rising Action

Kyran decides to also not tell anyone about the magic use. A few months go by, and Kyran somehow decides to go to a class on ancient myths and lore. The teacher, an older man, tells a story about one of the so called Crystalline Wielders, people who could harness a magical energy and do supernatural things with it. These included creating fire, water, and plants out of nothing. He also pulls out an old scroll that shows the relationship between the elements, but the edges are torn. Kyran stays after the class to talk to the teacher about it. Turns out that the teacher, whose name is Capt'alv, is a member of a society that studies the old lore concerning crystals, hoping to one day explain why the main island could remain and the other islands fell. Kyran asks more about the society, but the teacher avoids answering.   Kyran eventually learns much about the energy from the teacher. Most importantly, he learns that the government is trying to prevent any indication that there can be supernatural powers, as to keep the general public oblivious. They have secretly captured and killed the few people over the centuries who were or claimed to be Crystalline Wielders. He revisits the cave to try and regain the energy. When he gets to the Crystal Cavern, he does. The stories about the Crystalline Wielders were true, and Kyran is one of them. He begins to train with this power at least twice a week, being careful not to get caught by the guards.   One day, Kyran hears a story that someone in a neighboring town was doing strange magic, so he went to check it out. The girl who was talked about was also a Crystalline Wielder by the name of Shard, but she didn't know how any of it worked. She focuses the grass element. She claimed to get her power from the energy in the energy prisms that she had once stolen from a passing rich person, and Kyran makes the connection that they use the same energy. They begin to train together, but they can do it elsewhere besides the cave because they can use the energy prisms. Over time, they learn to use their powers by channeling the energy emitted from the Crystal in Crystal Cavern which is found almost everywhere on the island.    Kyran and Shard start being undercover heroes around Crystal City. However, the government gets suspicious and go after Kyran and Shard, making them semi-vigilantes.   Kyran and Shard find out about one more Crystalline Wielder guy. He focuses the water element, but claims to be a "lone wolf" and leaves. He is very mysterious at first.   Over time, weird sightings of stuff coming from the Abyss is reported by the ARA. This includes islands that begin to emerge, but fall back, strange light being emitted under the layer of clouds, and even a claim of seeing a wolf-like creature. Most of this is rumors, but the heroes see one of the aforementioned islands emerge and retreat, and prepare for something way worse to occur.   A rumor is spread by people that a person with grayish-purple skin appeared speaking of "destruction and domination," but if it's true, something bad may happen. Unknown to the heroes and civilians, the monarchy and the ARA capture this man, and he claims to be a part of a nation of people similar to how the Crystal Islands are, and they have discovered advanced technology to safely break through the Abyss. (The man seems disturbed, and all of this is said throughout mutters and cries. It took about a month to decipher it, but it was kept a government secret.) The government tries to disprove the rumors, but it set up extra protection, indirectly enforcing the rumors.   Also, an enormous amount of crystal energy is measured throughout the island (crystal spheres stay lit a lot longer). This makes it easier for Kyran and Shard to use their powers.   Eventually, Kyran and Shard find the other Crystalline Wielder guy again. He rejects their request to work together, they have a small skirmish, then he leaves claiming that he could "fulfill the prophecy on his own". The two heroes ask the teacher about if there is a prophecy, and he claims that he knew about it all along. It's something about "The people of the Crystal" who would "Protect from the world Below." The prophecy was always seen as the people of Crystal Island protecting themselves from an invasion from the sky. Putting two and two together, the heroes conclude that the world might be invaded from the Abyss, which would be below, and the "People of the Crystal" would be the Crystalline Wielders. The teacher also pulls out old pieces of paper that expand on the original 3 element relations, but this adds ice, earth, and lightning.   Soon after, an unexpected island appears. It is filled to the brim with the people of the world under the Abyss. They have an advanced machine to take over the Crystal Islands. After fighting through some of the people to get to what looks like the headquarters, the other crystalline guy from before is there too, and the heroes decide to join forces! They fight their way to the enemy headquarters.

Climax

EPIC BATTLE!!! The three heroes get to the enemy headquarters and find a weapon protected by guards which are more skilled and harder to fight. After the guards are defeated, the villains emerge. For some reason, there are three villains that can harness the power of three different elements: ice, lightning, and earth. They are the only things standing between the heroes and the weapon, so they fight. (It's insanely difficult.) When the heroes emerge victorious, they destroy the weapon. As they are about to leave the island and leave it to the government, the machine's precautionary features cause it to blow up most of the island that they're on. After an intense parkour sesh, they all get off the island except for Kyran. He plummets into the Abyss.

Falling Action

Kyran's actually falling. He seems to have lost to the bad guy...

Resolution

People are forced to go on without Kyran. This doesn't mean much to the world at large, but to the main characters, it's a brutal blow. They don't use their powers, not wanting anything bad to happen. The government admits to there being a battle, but lie about what happened, saying that the government was the one to defeat the invaders. Little do they know that Kyran is okay and in the world under the Abyss...
