Even before the Aivian species had only colonated a few systems, they were unified under the banner of the Startide Empire. They joined galactic society during The Great War, and were instrumental in ensuring the survival of Crux Draconis, but the empire is currently being torn apart by the The Aivian Civil War, all for the right to scrap or save the G.A.I.G.G.E..
