Oceavisum
The northwestern ley line hotspot is home to the city of Oceavisum. Like the other hotspot cities, this one is also built with a lot of verticality. This is partly to fit as many people in an as small space as possible, but it’s also due to its elevation. The city lies about 15 feet beneath the surface of the ocean, but this is kept in check for most of the year due to mages altering the weather so that it stays clear for most of the year. Every year the magic needs to rest for between 1 to 4 weeks during which all the downpour from the year will fall all at once and during these times it is not uncommon for the lower parts of the city to be covered by a couple feet of water. The city is protected from water coming from the ocean due to some magic barriers that have been put up so apart from the downpour during the rainy season, the city is mostly dry. The heavy downpour is directed towards the center of the city in order to assist the growth of mana crystals and this leads to a much more stable market where prices don't fluctuate much. The people that live higher up in the city are generally pretty happy about the situation due to the ease of acquiring mana crystals, but those unfortunate that live on the lower levels dislike the higher ups for being responsible for the partial destruction of their homes.
Restaurants
The Honed Tongue: The most well known restaurant in all of Magimorte. It was started and is owned by Albori Gethremane, a human with a very good taste for what would taste good. Here you will often order whatever is served for the day, but some prefer safer options in the menu that is composed of recipes that worked well in the past. A very finely decorated restaurant that has an amazing view of the ocean and an interior that is a very pleasant blend of all manner of cultures.
Ocea steaks: A place where one can find all manner of grilled meats and very muscular staff. The place is decorated in a way that allows for a good workout within the restaurant if you feel like burning away the fat from the food before you leave.
Cafes
Ember End: A café in which they feed coffee beans to fire elementals that eat them so that they get roasted. The staff later picks up the beans and uses them for their brews. The cafe is lit up by glass jars filled with fireflies and the interior has a rustic wooden finish.
All You Can Eat: A café in which the owner uses magic to create a multitude of delicious treats that don’t make you put on weight. Be wary though, for the treats will disappear if you leave them for too long. A very colorful cafe in the upper parts of town that has a counter where one orders what they want to eat and then take it to go or sit down at one of the tables outside
Cookies without a home: A small café run by an older couple and the orphans that they take in. This place may not be the fanciest, but everything here is baked with love. The café is closed during the flood season so that they can help the people affected during that time.
Inns
Whaletail: An inn in which all the staff wear thongs that ride up in their butt. Most of the customers are older people that just come to stare at the people working there. The place has a very standard layout, but with a lot more color added in to liven up the place.
The Unknown: A brothel in which all the staff wear masks that hide their identities. The prices are quite high for all products and services here, but most that frequent the place claim that the prize is worth it. There have been rumors that all high end criminal work is handed out in this establishment, but the law enforcement have found no evidence that would support it. A thin veil of smoke can be found all throughout the Unknown and many fine silk cloths are hung up in order to provide privacy to all those that wish to have it. The interior is made out of dark wood and light is provided by lanterns with purple flames inside.
Bunkeroni: A very affordable inn where most of the working class go. The place doesn't really stand out in any way.
The High Elf: A tavern that specialises in providing a wide variety of different stimulants other than just alcohol. The place has an elven inspired interior and is packed with abstract art.
Collective Thoughts: The most common place to go if one needs to trade information of any kind. It is primarily run by a changeling named Faleriou. It is considered impolite to go directly to him for information as one is expected to have a few drinks and mingle in the establishment before conducting business.
Blacksmiths
Lil Fluff: A legendary blacksmith that produces magical items that work outside the ley lines. Very few people manage to meet him in person as most just talk to the storefront and make their order there. The storefront looks very modest with only a few items on display and behind the counter one can find a small door leading to the back.
Magic shops
Gem Whisperer: A seller of all manner of magic crystals, including some more exotic variations of mana crystals with an added flair to them. The place is built out of what seems to be opaque amethyst and all the displays are made out of what seems to be glass, but they all have some jagged edges like those found on naturally grown crystals.
Ye Ol' Trinket: Seller of most types of magical goods. They produce a lot of magical items so anyone looking for something custom usually goes here. The shop has a very traditional cottage look that seems a bit out of place among the other buildings that are designed so that more can be built on top of them.
The Fancy Fella: A trader of cosmetic magic items. This shop is very open and has an abundance of mirrors that allow one to test out what one fancies almost anywhere in the shop. There is also a secondary building beside it that is designed to hold fashion shows where new arrivals are shown.
Dwarven Quality: The place to go if one is looking for weapons or armor since the owner is obsessed about all things related to it. The shop is built out of the old guard barracks after they moved to a new location.
Traders
Tausziz Branch (Higher End Trader that can be found in all the ley line cities): As with all shops in the Tausziz Branch franchise, this one also have a dark blue color scheme and magical fixtures attached to the walls so that it looks like crackles of lightning are traveling along them.
Neighborhood Trades: A very humble shop that is usually willing to trade anything they can afford, unless it is something that they wouldn't be able to sell later. Really dislikes those that insist on trading illegal goods or scams
Art
Keriijo Exhibit: A very fancy art exhibit in which one can find something related to most forms of art, be it music or traditional paintings. The building is a massive white stone building that lies upon a platform so that the flood doesn't reach it. It is said that the exhibit is owned by an old silver dragon.
Wave Theater: A theater in which the performance is held by moving shapes made out of water through magic. The performances are very mesmerising as the shapes that build the scene flow in a way that would not be possible in a regular theater. The building is a glass dome deep beneath the ways that can only be reached through a portal in their entrance within the city.
