Caldarion "Cal" Lattellevir

The Waterdhavian House of Lattellevir

The House of Lattellevir is a minor noble house in Waterdeep. Its long history is intimately tied to the goddess Tymora, and while the house is never the wealthiest or most powerful in the city, this also means it is very rarely the target of the most ruthless political machinations amongst the noble class either and has passed through the years with relative stability.   Unlike his brother, Caldarion was not as steeped in the business side of the house, and was more drawn into the magical history of the house, which brought him into contact with stories and clergy of Tymora. It is a known habit of Tymora’s to take mortal lovers, and it is family tradition that the founder of the House was one of Tymora’s mortal lovers.   House Lattellevir was one of the merchant houses raised to noble status in 1248, along with the Cassalanters, who due to their financial business were able to amass far more wealth and influence far more quickly.   Vronion Latellevir: Caldarion’s older brother and head of House Lattellevir. Vronion loves his brother, but holds some bitterness toward Cal, who has always had life so much easier. Vronion’s talent is more intellectual in nature, and he is a gifted wizard (scribes?) on top of being a shrewd businessman. Despite his talent for wizardry, Vronion has, in a few rare moments of candor before the death of their father, shared feelings of being out of place in his family for whom magic comes so naturally.   Lezera Latellevir: Caldarion’s wife. Lezera hails from Neverwinter, and the pair of them settled in Phandalin to create a place of their own between their two home cities. Lezera is currently acting as the co-head of house with Cal while he splits his time acting in service to Varachiel, angel of Tymora. Lezera is a talented musician and mage.   Elori (Eziri) Lattellevir: Caldarion and Lezera’s daughter. Elori has already shown immense talent with magic at a young age, just like the rest of her family. Unlike her family, whose talents reside in the arcane, Elori’s abilities tend toward divine light and fire and holy sight. Caldarion made a pilgrimage with Elori to the shrine to Tymora in Phandalin prior to the family’s official move to Phandalin and saw a vision of an angel of Tymora, Varachiel, entering a close relationship with the Shrine of Luck thereafter. Phandalin

Phandalin

Sister Garaele, Priestess of Tymora: Cal is very close to Sister Garaele after the events surrounding his pilgrimage to Phandalin and the entering of a pact with Tymora’s angel Varachiel at the Shrine of Luck. He has worked closely with Sister Garaele on more than one occasion to further the goals of Tymora and preserve the safety of Phandalin.   Halia Thornton, Head of the Miners’ Exchange: The Lattellevir family does a great deal of business with the miner’s exchange, so Cal’s relationship with Halia is professional and cordial. Halia’s ambitions are a touch beyond what Cal is personally comfortable with, and he has publicly advocated for checks against a single person or group carrying too much power in Phandalin since the death of Harbin Wester as a means of indirectly curbing some of her more autocratic ambitions for the town.   Daran Edermath, Order of the Gauntlet of Phandalin (retired): Cal has had fewer dealings with Daran as an adventurer than with Sister Garaele, and fewer economic dealings with his orchard than with Linene or Halia, however what cause he has had to interact with Daran have left a good impression. Harbin Wester, Townmaster (deceased): Cal was not personally a fan of Harbin Wester’s, like many finding him pompous. However, while the town stayed running efficiently and peacefully, Cal would tolerate the old banker as townmaster.   Linene Graywind, Owner of the Lionshield Coster: Cal appreciates Linene Graywind’s integrity and spent a great deal of time working to win enough of her trust to become one of the shippers of her weapons and armor.

Lattellevir Shipping

House Lattellevir runs one of many shipping ventures in Waterdeep. When Old Lord Lattellevir passed, his sons each had their own vision for the different divisions of Lattellevir Shipping, so they split the two Ventures amongst themselves. Vronion took Sea Shipping and Cal took Land Shipping. Cal quickly expanded the company’s small scale land trade into a competitive trading venture along the High Road that moved goods from Waterdeep (finished goods, fish, leather, tools, ale, and weapons), Neverwinter (exotic clocks and raw materials, mostly lumber), and Phandalin (raw materials, mostly mined cold iron, gold, platinum, and milled lumber) to the other connected cities on the route.
