Hilverdoorn

The Hilverdoorn were a precursor culture that formed on the mainland. The Hilverdoorn people were not fond of record keeping and so much of their history is lost to time. The Hilverdoorn spoke a very basic language that has no known written form. Today the language is known as Hill Speak. The few details that are still around are from the record of both Altinum and Takamoto people that detail their interactions the Hilverdoorn.   Hilverdoorn were mostly nomadic people that consisted of a vast number of tribes that wandered the central areas of the mainland. They shared many family and community values, and believed everyone to be a hilverdoorn. This is detailed in various record from several ancient Takamoto journals that describe how the Hilverdoorn would regularly setup camp near Takamoto settlements and would mingle with the residents as if they were extended family.

Descendants

The fate of the Hilverdoorn is mostly unknown due to the lack of written records. It is believed that their dissipation has something to with the disasters detailed by the Takamoto and the Altinum peoples. The descendants of the Hilverdoorn would go on to form three major cultures still present in the world:   The northernmost tribes would remain the closest to the accounts of the Hilvedoorn. They would have a large focus on family and community, while still welcoming outsiders to join and participate in their culture. They would also lean heavily into thanking the natural world itself then the gods who provided the world. These tribes would form the Laggsunde people.   The more central tribes took to trade and mercantilism. To facilitate this they built large sprawling cities ruled by expansive guilds and trade syndicates that looked to deal with all people regardless of culture, creed, or even crime. These tribes would form the Otwin culture   The southernmost tribes dedicated themselves to religion and the gods. They would build large cities filled with shrines and churches, all of which dwarfed by the massive cathedrals found at the center of each city. These tribes would form the Jouilat culture.
