Session 8: Days of Your Lives Report
General Summary
The Blessed Isle
Mishal and Galit continued in their training at the Cloister of Wisdom, although Galit had learned as much as he desired of Water Dragon Style and was prepared to stay absent after attending the Mae-Kang wedding. The pair returned to the Imperial City for the wedding, and reconvened with Kai'hua. While Mishal was called to attend the family tea ceremony that took place before the wedding proper, Kai and Galit spent some time socialising with the lesser members of Houses Cathak and Tepet. During the ceremony, the couple gave thanks to the Immaculate Dragons, the Celestial Incarna, their gathered family, and then each other. The Mouth of Peace, the leader of the Immaculate Order, was present to conduct the ceremony. She almost reached the end of the vows, until Mishal was seized by a surge of fury. He proclaimed his offence at the entire situation, greatly offending both the Cathak and Tepet, until Kang was angered enough to challenge him to a duel. With the wedding rescheduled, Mishal was instructed by Cainan to make amends with Kang in an attempt to head off problems.. Mishal, accompanied by Kai'hua and Galit, met with Kang - who agreed that something, or someone, had tampered with the both of them, making them much less rational during the wedding. They resolved to find out who had done it, and called off the duel. Unfortunately, neither Tepet or Cathak were forthcoming about any betrayals, and the investigation floundered. Kang was resigned to holding out until the rescheduled wedding, which was to take place in the first days of the new year.Fengrao and Heavens
Fengrao and Heavens spent three days training in the beginnings of Ebon Shadow Style with Five Days Darkness, and learning everything they could of Anathema from the god, until they had to bid him farewell and return to town. Fengrao stopped in quickly to thank Jareth, the innkeeper, for his good information, and the two arrived at their designated meeting place on the docks, where they were to meet with the captain of the Safest Dragon. Unfortunately, the Safest Dragon had been chained up on the far side of the harbour. A smooth captain, who introduced himself as Lucky Panther, explained to the duo that the captain had been brought in on smuggling charges, and hadn't paid the appropriate dues on a quantity of firedust. He extrapolated from this that as the two had come with the ship, they would likely also be detained on those same charges. Captain Lucky offered them an out, however - he would take them back towards the Blessed Isle, although the route to get there would be rather circuitous, and for a measly price of half a talent. As armed guards were approaching the docks, the pair accepted, and Lucky marched them right past the guards and onto his ship, the Whisper. Some days afterwards, they find themselves aboard the Whisper, but in the Underworld, a still and deathly realm with a guttering star to light their way over the still ocean. Captain Panther explains that he takes this path as it's far safer than traveling over the Ocean. They later see him fending off a kraken-like creature with a short phrase, while revealing himself to be a Moonshadow Abyssal - a deathknight. Although unnerved by this, they remained aboard as they sailed, within sight of the Underworld's replica of the Blessed Isle. As they sailed towards a black fleet, backed by the corpse-behemoth Juggernaut, Captain Panther explained that he was in fact a deathknight known properly as Lucky Void Panther, and that he was bringing the pair before his master, who resided in the spires on top of Juggernaut.Thrudd
Thrudd returned to the shadowland of Marama's Fell, and traveled around the edge of it until he came to the white Traveler's Road. He met a squad of Whitewall Guardians escorting a caravan down the road, who informed him of several important local facts - firstly, that he was between Whitewall and Wallport, secondly, that the shadowland of Marama's Fell was made by mass death, thirdly, that only the Traveler's Road and Whitewall were considered safe, and finally, that no creature of darkness was able to get through their walls. Although the Guardians were concerned Thrudd may have been attacked by Fair Folk before making it to the Road, they continued on their business heading south to Wallport. Thrudd decided to take their advice and head north to Whitewall along the Road, and upon arriving had to queue up to get into Whitewall for the day. He had a short chat with another man waiting in line and when he got to the gate, found he was unable to pass the walls. A Guardian officer bearing both jade daiklave and lamellar pulled him out of line for questioning, and Thrudd quickly got to work digging a new hole for himself, claiming he was a local farmer. The officer agreed to escort him back to his farmhouse. Once out of line of sight of the gate and the common folk, the officer got to interrogating Thrudd, quickly concluding that Thrudd was neither Fae, nor Deathknight, nor demon. Even so, as he was unable to enter Whitewall, he was considered a danger, and the officer dramatically revealed he was a Fire-Aspected Dragon-Blood by igniting his daiklave in flame and striking at Thrudd. Thrudd fled, but observed as the Dragon-Blood reported that he had chased off the threat. Having tried Whitewall, Thrudd decided that Wallport would be his next stop - a much dirtier, smaller port town that serviced all the trade from Whitewall. While he was able to get inside the city, the people of Wallport were considerably less helpful than those he had met on the road.Dream Meeting
The Children held a meeting in the last days of Resplendent Fire - a meeting that Heavens and Fengrao were unable to attend. While Mishal and Kai'hua were determined to discover the cause of the disruption to the wedding, Galit planned with Thrudd to bring him back to the Isle - he would borrow a boat from House Peleps and meet Thrudd in Wallport.Galit and the Bull
Before he would catch up with Thrudd, Galit was determined to meet with the Icewalker Solar, Yurgen Kaneko or The Bull of the North. In the presence of the Bull, he professed to be the brother of Thrudd, and to be on friendly terms with Storm and the Cult of the Illuminated. Although Yurgen was aware of Storm, he was not part of the Cult of the Illuminated, and as Galit had professed to be the relative of Thrudd, he was given the chance to join the Bull. Galit politely declined and attempted to fight his way out, slaying four-score icewalkers and skilfully keeping the Bull at bay in a furious, high-speed sword duel.Rewards Granted
