The Loom and the Deathknights
4 Calibration

Against my better judgement we decided to make our way to the loom of fate in heaven - it was there that the maidens went as well as Calamitous Storm, and I think we all wanted to know more information about this critical failure that is happening in Creation. So we decided to take one of the flying dragon boats. Kai and Thrudd got into an argument with the guy who rented them out. Kai wiped his memory of the argument and we were on our way, well, sort of. Turns out none of us knew how to fly a dragon boat. But with the help of Heavens we took off, and made our way towards the loom.   Once we got there, we parked the boat and some guards came out and wouldn't let us in. They said we should go into the main entrance and we might be let in, so that's what we did. When we got to the main entrance, which was an ornately carved giant building, we came across a marble wall that was surrounded by floating elevators. Thrudd put his head through the wall and then when he came back out he looked bewildered, saying that the loom of fate was being worked by hundreds of spider looking creatures and that it was truly beautiful.   We decided to take the elevators up to try and find the maidens or Storm. Eventually we found the maidens, they were staring intently at a patch of the loom. Venus told Mishal that this was in the city of Thorns which had fallen into the underworld, which was where that deathknight that was talking to Thrudd at the festival said for him to meet him. Mars told Galit that a giant battle was being waged, and that there was one ancient thread in the loom that was ensnaring many others. Apparently Storm had already left, being sent away for reconnaissance by the maidens. They said he was very good at his job.   We decided to head to Thorns to help out those fighting with the deathknights - something had to be done. After talking to Venus, she told us portal 54 would lead us closest to Thorns without being in the actual city. And with that, we took the dragon boat and headed straight to the foyer of heaven. When we got there, we ran into the sorceress Samea, who yelled at us for taking up all the time of the Unconquered Sun and sending him away. Galit grabbed her and accused her of summoning Laraken the pattern eater, and working for the Bull of the North. She claimed she worked for lots of people, to which Galit countered that most people were probably not going to kill a bunch of innocents across Creation. Samea teleported to the other side of the foyer and said that it was important to rise up against your oppressors. We goaded her into coming to fight the Deathknights if she was so worried about her oppression, to which she declined and exited the foyer into a north-eastern portal. Strange woman.   We left through portal 54, and travelled to Thorns. When we were getting close enough to see Juggernaut, Heavens shot up and flew towards the carnage, leaving the rest of us to travel on foot. Heavens fought ghosts and smote them all, and eventually we caught up with him. He said there were survivors in the city holed up, and while I wanted to go straight to Juggernaut the rest of my siblings wanted to help out the survivors. It was noble, but there was something foul about the city and I thought we would've been best to avoid it. We passed a bunch of bodies that had skeletons ripped out of them, and I felt even more uneasy. When we reached a pocket of survivors they told us we couldn't enter, and that we were infectious and our skeletons would soon pop out of our bodies.   This isn't good. While I tried to summon what knowledge I could from my healing textbook, we made our way to Juggernaut in the hopes of finding the person who was causing this disease. Suddenly the robed priest, Starfall of Iron Phoenix, came out and goaded us, saying we were stupid and will soon enough die just like our mother. He admitted to killing Gaia, the bastard! With that the majority of us tried to smite him, and it turns out he was just a projection. As he continued to goad us as we walked along, Mishal was able to dispel the illusion. Vengeance will be mine for what they did to mother, I swear it.   When we reached the docks, we saw Juggernaut and ten thousand hungry ghosts waiting for us. We fought the ghosts but Juggernaut seemed immobile. Mishal brightly lit themself and the ghosts fled, so we made our way to the leg of Juggernaut so we could climb them. And with that, I realised I knew how to heal my siblings of their diseases. We were about to climb but we saw a man perched on Juggernauts leg, waiting for us.   Time will tell how hard he will be to fight. For now I'm just glad I can heal everyone.

Entering Heaven
3 Calibration

So we met up with Kai, Mishal and Thrudd in the foyer of heaven at dawn on the third day of calibration. I was so glad to see Kai in person, it felt really good to hug her.   We didn't know what to expect but we decided to go into heaven and look around. When we entered, we were met with a huge festival, lots of food, lots of stalls with games, even hawkers selling their wares. The hawkers were asking for something called quintessence for payment, which we didn't have so we couldn't buy anything. But the food was free and it was plentiful! Thrudd ate a lot.   I was watching Mishal dance with a large woman in blue when a large woman in yellow came up to me and introduced herself as Mercury. So this was the Mercury that Storm was asked by to keep tabs on us. She seemed nice. I then went over to watch the sparring match between Galit and someone named Thorn. They were both very skilled at fighting and put up a good match. Kai said she ran into the ninja, who was as it turns out a girl! She said she would keep on trying to kill us as she had been bidden by her masters, but wouldn't reveal who those masters were. Thrudd also talked with the deathknight priest who tried to kill him, and the priest offered him a job. Thrudd declined but said he would keep it in mind.   Then we heard a loud gong and the pleasure dome opened, and who should walk out but the unconquered sun, lunar, and our wonderful mother Gaia! Galit stopped fighting, and we made our way over to mother. We talked with Mother for a little bit, but she seemed pretty out of it (probably on account of her dying and all). It was so good to see her, I have missed her greatly. I will be inconsolable when she is truly dead. Mishal used their sun powers to get the attention of the unconquered sun, and the unconquered sun then angrily called a God named Lytek to him, asking what had happened to the solar. Lytek told him that they had been hijacked. The unconquered sun asked him to work it out and Lytek said he would try. Then the unconquered sun angrily went back to the pleasure dome.   The five goddesses asked us to come witrh them to somewhere more secluded so we could talk. Despite the danger of leaving the safe area of heaven, we agreed to go with them. They led us onto an airship and asked us questions about who we are, and where we came from. Then Heavens mentioned he had talked with Storm about the deathknights, but Storm had rushed off and he didn't know where to. Jupiter said "he is at the loom" and all five of the goddesses blinked away in a westerly direction. The airship plummeted to the ground with all of us still in it! Luckily Heavens created a whirlwind that gently set us into the ground instead of us being smashed to pieces. I'm thankful for him! Then a dragon came up and gave Heavens a ticket for using the whirlwind, and a ticket for talking back to the dragon. Heavens played off the fine with what looked like ivory, I wonder where he got that!   We walked back to the festival, where we saw the ninja now returned to the festival area covered head to toe in blood and gore. Then there was a loud klaxon where the war gods all went speeding off towards the loom, and we heard that there has been a critical failure on creation. I don't like the sound of that. We have to go back to creation, we can't stay in heaven. But I dont like what we may be walking into. We have to destroy those deathknights for what they have done to mother. Vengeance will be mine.

The Bull of the North and Heaven's gate
28 Descending Fire

Well, the Bull of the North is a mighty foe. He fucked me UP. We killed Laraken the pattern eater and a bunch of the Bull's men, but not before being thoroughly fucked over by them. Pattern eater kept using his invincible skin gift to stop our attacks, and I had nothing that could penetrate his armour. It was frustrating.   And then The Bull came along and I let slip that I could get us out of there with my earthwalking gift. Big mistake, huge. The Bull then said "well I will have to kill you so they can't escape" and did a fuckton of damage to me. Luckily my ability to heal helped me fend off the bull for long enough to us to survive. We had to drag Galit away because he so badly wanted to kill The Bull since Yurgen was able to summon Galit's sword. But it wasn't to be, after being severely injured by all of us The Bull teleported out where we couldn't see him. Probably to avoid being killed.   I'm just glad we got out of there alive to be honest.   Next we were planning on meeting up with Mishal, Thrudd and Kai, but it would've taken too long for us to get to the imperial mountain. Heavens said he had knowledge of other places of power that might have a gate of mercury that could lead us to Heaven. So we set off. And what do you know, the second place we found had a gate! We entered on the 28th of descending fire, and came across four stone lions, who told us we were too early and we had to go back. Heavens wanted to fight them, but Galit and I managed to convince him to wait until the 3rd of Calibration when we were actually allowed to enter Heaven.   And so we are waiting at the top of this mountain. Kai, Mishal and Thrudd are waiting at their mountain too. Hopefully we will see each other in a few days. I hope. I can't wait to give Kai a big hug, it's been too long since we've seen each other in person. Months!

Escaping
20 Descending Fire

Well, Heavens and I decided we didn't want to talk to big boss deathknight, so we made our escape. Heavens created some sort of tornado that we both could ride on, while also creating terrible weather for captain panther so the chase was harder for him.   We lost sight of him, and decided to go to the Sijian shadowland as it was the safest and easiest route to get out of the underworld.   As we were walking on the water, a giant shark-like creature came out of nowhere and attacked Heavens! I managed to dodge its attacks but Heavens was lodged in its mouth. We attacked it, but then it decided that dive down into the depths of the ocean. I wasn't able to follow as I couldn't see anything. That time when I was waiting for Heavens, not knowing if he was alive or dead was the scariest moment. But just as I was losing hope, Heavens burst out of the water, looking a little worse for wear. He had slain the beast.   We moved on, and eventually reached the underworld town of Sijian. There we met a ghost who would give us information about how to get out of the underworld in exchange for some of my ginger. But when I went to give it to him, he grabbed into me and tried to suck my blood out! Suddenly we were surrounded by hungry ghosts who wanted to kill us. I managed to create a hole in their defense, and Heavens and I made our way to the forest after killing a bunch of them. Well, I'm not sure if killing is the right term sjnce they're ghosts. But we dispatched them anyway.   And just like that, we made it thrugh the forest and out of the underworld! We had escaped, I was so glad. I certainly didn't trust that we would've survived those deathknights.   We had a dream meeting where I was absolutely relieved to see everyone, especially Kai. As much as I love Heavens, Kai is my twin and I don't know what I'd do without her. From there we decided tha Heavens and I would go up north to try and rescue Galit.   We will see what happens next I suppose. Hopefully we can avoid the bull of the north, he sounds like a nasty character.

Uh oh
20 Resplendent Fire

Well, Heavens and I spent three days with 5 Days of Darkness. He taught us the basics of shadow style martial arts, which is always handy to know I suppose. Then we headed back to the dock to await pickup, but apparently our Captain had been detained for smuggling Firespice! A guy named Captain Panther told us the predicament, and said that since we were travelling with the captain that they were looking for us too.   Heavens and I decided to make a quick decision and agreed to travel a roundabout way back to the Blessed Isle on Captain Panther's ship. It will cost us an arm and a leg but hopefully we should get back safely - or so we thought.   We woke up one morning and the sun and sky were the wrong colour! Upon asking the Captain, he said that his roundabout way back to the Blessed Isle made a path through the underworld. I didn't like the sound of it, but there wasn't much we could do unfortunately. Then we couldn't reach the rest of the family in our usual dream meetings, so I feel like it was even more ominous.   And then? Something giant attacked the boat, and when Heavens and I came out onto the deck we saw the Captain fighting off a giant squid. Suddenly he had a mark on his forehead - the mark of a deathknight! This is really really bad, 5 days of darkness told us that the deathknights were more than likely responsible for mother's death!   When Heavens probed the captain about his mark, he said that he was given powers by his boss, but wouldn't say who his boss was. The captain complimented Heavens on his knowledge, saying that he didn't realise there was much written about Deathknights. The captain said he knew we had been dropped off on this plane and that we were movers and shakers. He said we wouldn't like how he knew we were dropped off, so he refrained from telling us. Could it be he knew because they had killed mother? I don't like this one bit.   We continued on our journey, but I had an ominous feeling that something bad was going to occur. And sure enough, we were met with a giant creature who had a castle built on his back as well as a fleet of ships. Captain Panther said it would be a good idea if we met his boss, who lived in the castle. So we have started sailing in that direction.   I'm worried that the Captain won't keep his word and return us to the Blessed Isle. I'm worried we won't see our family again. I'm worried that if these deathknights were able to kill mother so easily, that they will make short work of the rest of us. I don't like this at all, not one bit.

Travelling to Five Days of Darkness.
9 Resplendent Fire

Well, Heavens and I have spent a significant portion of time on a boat. I kept up with my healing studies by reading my health textbook, the hundred ways of health. It's fascinating stuff!   When we travelled the ocean we came across what the captain called a Wyld zone. That it belonged to the fair folk, and that we should plug our ears with wax lest we were entranced by them. Heavens and I both complied, but we still felt the urge to remove our wax plugs once they were in. Suddenly we saw Mother walking along the edge of the waters, or at least something that was taking the shape of her. I yearned to be with Mother again but my common-sense told me she is dead, and that that creature was not her. Heavens helped one of the crew members by stopping him from jumping off the boat, and the captain helped tie him up until the trouble had passed.   We passed through the Wyld zone otherwise uneventfully, and had a dream meeting one night with the rest of the family. Thrudd had been taken captive by the bull of the north, but managed to escape due to some quick thinking. Mishal and Galit entered the gate of Heaven and spoke with both Calamitous Storm and a solar named Demethea. Mishal argued with Thrudd that the solars were given their powers by the heavens and that we should be fighting on their side. Thrudd argued that they were trying to kill us and that they shouldn't be trusted. It was a bitter argument that I was staying out of; I haven't made my mind up one way or the other. It seems very... murky. Like there's no good or bad guys. We ended the dream and each went about our business.   Heavens and I reached the Coral archipelago the next morning - the captain said he would be back in three days to collect us and if we weren't there then we were on our own. Fair enough. Upon reaching the town, we went to the tavern where I inquired about Five Days of Darkness with the tavernmaster. After a little bribery, he said we could find him at the volcano. I thanked him for his advice and we set off.   Upon reaching the summit of the volcano we were greeted by magma golem, who wondered why we had awakened him. I said we were searching for Five Days of Darkness, and with that he sighed, grumbled and pointed us to a stairway in the volcano, leading down to a cave. Upon entering we were met with Five Days of Darkness. He seemed angry at first given we are dragon blooded until he inhaled and then asked after Gaia, claiming he didn't know that Mother had been making new dragon blooded.   We got down to brass tacks and told him that Gaia had said he had hurt/killed her. He claimed that he had no desire to hurt Gaia, and even if he had wanted to that he wouldn't be able to, and that she was like a grandmother to him. Without Kai there it was impossible to know if he was telling the truth or not, which was frustrating. He seemed on the level though. He also told us that the death knights were a scourge on the land and he detested them, as well as that Storm could be trusted. So we know that Five Days of Darkness is in league with the solars, or at the very least isn't actively working against them. He also said that the stuff the dragon blooded say about him is preposterous, and that he doesn't massacre anyone or possess a child during calibration. He said that calibration is when people's fates are decided, and also that the dragon blooded are just mad at him and make up lies because he learned their martial arts. I don't know if that's the real reason, but I can't think of why he would lie to us.   It's not as easy as black and white, and I don't know who we should be trusting and who we shouldn't. Time will tell I suppose. Until then I just want to stick with our family. I need to figure out a way to find Thrudd first and foremost, I worry about him especially.

Studying and intrigue
20 Ascending Fire

Well, I started at the Heptagram, learning the hundred ways of health. It's been about two months of constant studying before Heavens received a tip from Ledaal Song about Five Days of Darkness. Apparently he is on an island about a month's travel away? We need to find him, I must get vengeance for mother.   Mishal and Galit said they found someone they can trust, who says that it wasn't possible for Five Days of Darkness to kill mother, and that it was more than likely these deathknights that have been springing up. We need more information, so Heavens and I are on the hunt for Five Days while I'm not sure what everyone else is doing. We will have a dream meeting where we let the others know what is happening I suppose, but I don't think without my journeying skill the others will be able to catch up to us.   Thrudd was going up north to see the battlegrounds of where Tepet was overrun by the bull of the north. I haven't heard from him since we just had our dream meeting but I fear for Thrudd's safety all alone.   I worry about Kai too, as she is on her own also. I dislike that we are all split apart, I'd feel much more comfortable if we were all together. Time will tell what will happen.

Slavery
23 Wood Ascending

We all decided to go to the birthday party at house Cynis, with me and Kai going by carriage and the rest of our family going by boat.   The party wasn't super exciting at the beginning but they had alcohol which was pretty tasty, probably from house V'neef. Three military men from house Sesus cornered Mishal and Falun from house Cynis cornered Kai, I guess they both wanted them to join their houses since they were free agents at this stage. At the end of the party they had a slave auction, which I left for since slavery is absolutely abhorrent to me. But apparently after I left a slave tried to stab Falun (who was leading the auction) and shouted "For Senebau!"   When we left the auction we went down to the docks to wait for Thrudd, Heavens and Kai who stayed behind to watch. We saw the men from house Sesus trying to drown the slave who stabbed Falun. Kai came out and put the slave to sleep so it would appear he had drowned. The men from house Sesus left and we quickly helped the slave out of the water. Kai healed his wounds and we moved him to the boat so he wouldn't be found by people from house Cynis. Thrudd told the servants that he had buried the body of the slave so no one would come asking about the body.   I went back in the carriage with Heavens to the Qishi manse, where I met with Aliset. Aliset said that the slave auction was performative for our benefit, seeing what we could stomach, and that it was a game to the people in house Cynis. She invited me to watch the imperial senate, but I had to decline since I want to study at the Heptagram. I stayed for a couple of days at the manse and then went back to the imperial city for our meeting with Tepet Kang and Mae.   The dinner was interesting, Kang was very friendly and regaled us of his tales in the north. Apparently they had no luck against the general anathema and his 400,000 troops. Kang was beating himself up about how he could've done more. He seems like a nice guy.   I went back to the V'neef manse and rested. We will see what comes in the future. I'm looking forward to getting started at the Heptagram, I'm keen to find out more about Five Days of Darkness and how we can avenge mother. Time will tell.

Family.
18 Wood Ascending

Well, after interviewing with house Nellens and house V'neef decided to join house V'neef. V'neef herself met with me and Kai. I worry about what Kai is going to choose - she said she needed more time to make her decision. I'm guessing because she wants to go to the party at house cynis as a free agent, to see what they can tell her about five days of darkness. As for me, V'neef seemed to fit my goals nicely - I can go to the heptagram and find out more about Five Days of Darkness, and I can learn healing and physiology while I'm there. V'neef herself seemed to be a very knowledgeable woman and she seemed quite nice too. I think so long as there aren't any clashes with my family's houses it should be fine.   Speaking of everyone else, Thrudd chose house Ragara, and I don't know what he is going to have to do to earn the money he makes. Hopefully nothing too bad. Galit chose house Peleps, where he is going to be trained to be a sea captain. It seems like a good fit for him. Heavens chose house Ledaal, probably to gain access to the heptagram too. Maybe he and I can work together on finding out information about Five Days of Darkness. Mishal hasn't chosen a house yet either, probably for the same reason as Kai, but it's likely they will choose house Cathak to stay with their new lover.   I'm wondering if it would be offensive to my new house if I also went to the house Cynis birthday party. Surely not? I will ask, for sure.

People here sure are money hungry.

I don't like this. First we have to leave our beautiful garden because someone has killed our mother, then I'm Mugged by two separate groups of people, and beaten up significantly by someone called MingWa. What a bitch. I'm not too happy about being stuck in this godforsaken world, I mean Mae seems alright but she wants more from us than I am willing to give. I don't know what the future holds for us but I forsee nothing good.

Sometimes I wonder if we are the bad guys

We spent three days on a riverboat from Great Forks to Caenen. Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to hunt down that bitch MingWa. I'll never forgive her for attacking me and my family; I hope one day after we have sought vengeance for Mother that I can come back and hunt her down.   When in Caenen we learned from the Shogun that he had placed an embargo on ships going to the Blessed Isle because of pirates. Mae and Mishal found a captain that was willing to smuggle us in so long as we destroyed a cult and an uppity god who was causing havoc. We also met Storm, who recommended we visit his friend Costera if we got a chance.   We set off, and walked along the beach, when it felt suddenly like I movd one kilometre forward with one step. Strange. Heavens thought there must be sorcery involved, and dispelled the magic. Suddenly our group was split in two, half on one side of the cove and half on the other. A big cove of water in between. There were huts and a longhouse so we decided to make our way to them. Thrudd got there first and offended the guy, and he used a tsunami to attack Thrudd. Thrudd decided to leave before any more havoc could be wrought. Galit and Kai then approached, and they managed to somehow calm him down so that we were allowed in the village.   Mae got upset that we were accepting his hospitality instead of outright attacking him. Apparently Costera and his cult were the ones we were meant to fight, but at this stage they were hospitable towards us. He invited all of us except Thrudd into the longhouse, using magic to make sure we couldn't hurt him while under his roof. We discussed Storm and how strange it was that he could keep up with us while we were travelling given he was merely a commoner and surely required sleep. Then he quietly mentioned he was working at disrupting the system, and working with an anathema to do so.   We couldn't let that stand. So we left the longhouse, and came back in and attacked him. It was a tough fight. Unfortunately he was super powerful, and swept us all out to sea, disappearing in the meantime.   As much as I dislike the anathema, I have to wonder - Costera was nothing but nice to (most of) us. He welcomed us with hospitality. Are we wrong to be fighting him? I genuinely don't know.   Hopefully with him disappearing it's enough to book us passage on that ship. We need to get to the blessed isle to find out more about five days of darkness, and how to defeat him. For mother's sake.
