Shardan
An offshoot of the Caleadens around 500 AFR, the Shardans are a loosely identified people populating the coasts and islands of the Sea of Shards. Their largest population centers are Whitesails in the hill country of Ufria and Orusal along the Scythe Coast, but otherwise they are dispersed in smaller communities and upon the seas throughout the region.
In accordance with their Caleaden roots, Shardans mostly have olive to bronze skin with dark wavy or curly hair and hazel to deep brown eyes. In general, they are a passionate people who love to eat, drink, sing, dance... and brawl. The curiously warm climate of the majority of the Sea of Shards has influenced the Shardans to prefer light, flowing clothing of bright colors; adorned with jewelry and piercings, often covered in tattoos, Shardans tend to stand out when abroad as sailors, merchants, performers, and swashbucklers. Used to a life at sea, most Shardans are agile and well-balanced, with nimble fingers and quick tongues. They have their own language of the same name, which correlates perfectly to their culture of bravado and romance.
