Goblin Language in Creacia | World Anvil

Goblin

The language of Goblins, Hobgoblins, Bugbears, and many other Goblinoid species, scholars believe that more creatures speak Goblin as their mother tongue than any other language on Creacia, due to the countless millions who make their homes in the dens and warrens of the Underdark and the tangled depths of the world's forests. A descendent of Fey, Goblin is a language steeped in trickery and mockery, once evincing odd melodic qualities as well as screeching, grating dissonances; though unlike other forms--such as Gnomish or Pixie--it has very simple grammar and morphology, therefore making it relatively easy to learn.    Goblin has developed a form of writing similar to Undermarks, called Gobscratch, used mostly amongst the lower Goblins. Hobgoblins and Bugbears usually write phonetically using the Eolic Alphabet.
