Brixa "Brix" Brightblood

Brixa is a young, good-natured yet sharp-tongued female Tiefling witch, the only Shadowborn to live openly in the area around the Crossroads. She came several years back from the North Coven Woods as the emissary of the Brightblood Witches, a well-respected coven of mostly goodly witches specializing in the healing arts and fortune hexes. She was traded to the Brightbloods from Deepvalen Thrallers who had found her as a feral young girl living in a den of foxes in the Forktongue Fens shortly after the War of the Vales. Kept in a cage for almost a year until she was traded for fortune hexes (which the Brightbloods reversed to misfortune after the deal was sealed), Brixa was given a choice: to roam wild and try to find her fox family again, or to remain with the Brightbloods and learn the ways of the witch. She went off for a time, rediscovering her old den, but ultimately decided to study with the Brightbloods. Brixa excelled at all the dark arts and managed to maintain some of her original wildness and ferocity. As she was about to embark on the Witch’s Wander—a sacred rite of the Brightbloods and some other covens—a young fox from her original den, the son of the mother who took her in, came to become her familiar. Now she and Stix live on the outskirts of the Crossroads, and although the townsfolk were originally suspicious of a Tiefling witch amongst them, Brixa’s charm and her repeated act of healing the sick and injured free of charge—unlike the Temple of Abadar—won most of them over. She now spends her time perfecting the healing arts, causing occasional mischief, and seeking adventure along the way.
