The Betweenlands

These regions take up the vast majority of space across Craterlands, spreading between the sparce but relatively non hostile Crators. The land above the sanctuary of the Crators is extremely hostile in one form or another, from fridgid tempuratures to striking winds it is all but impossible for most life to survive in these lands between Crators.

Northern Betweenlands

The Nothern Betweenlands sit above the Center Crator (another placeholder - there are going to be a lot of those) and stretch to the peak of the known world, extending far beyond the heights of the northernmost Crators. While it is possible that they come to an end at some unknown northern point, it is impossible to travel them for long enough to determine if this is the case. This results from their trademark extreme winds and heat, washing over them like passing storms. During normal periods the Northern Betweenlands are baren, empty of life apart from the smallest creatures that crawl up to the surface from the Undergarden through cracks created by the conditions. This is only during periods in which the storms are not passing over these specific regions however, as they will scorch any life they pass over with tempuratures well beyond those survivable by creatures of the Undergarden and winds that are capable of vastly reshaping the terrain that they pass over.

Southeastern Betweenlands

The Southeastern Betweenlands are less forgiving than those of the North, being in a constant state of fridgid tempurature. These lands also extend far beyond both the furthest southen Crators and eastern Crators, however unlike the Northern Betweenlands they do not offer any repreive from the conditions they host. In these regions the tempuratures never rise above those which prevent any life from struggling through their grasp, making it not simply dangerous to traverse them but impossible.
