Steve

Steve has a stocky build and brown skin. They have short, dark brown hair, a visible nose, violet eyes, and a beard. Apart from the beard, their signature features are their cyan shirt, with noticeable cuffs and untucked on the left-hand side. Steve's pants are purple and shoes gray.
Miner, Builder, Alchemist
Close companion of Alex and the founding leader of the Player Core. Steve is an exhausted mentor to many of the Player Core, and can usually be found in one of three places: the alchemy classroom putting out figurative or literal fires, his office hunched over a detailed sketch of a new build on his desk, or deep in strip mines letting himself get lost in the simple, near meditative task.
While Steve is a beloved professor, many are first starstruck by the retired adventurer, as his work was integral to the expansion of many fields: his extensive mapping of the Overworld; the pioneering of transportation to the Nether; and stirring public interest in reconnecting with The End. He discovered, uncovered, and shared all manner of knowledge on alchemy and the natural world across dimensions.
However, once students and staff realize his more human tendencies, from forgetting his lunch from getting so swept up in work, to having a few sob sessions in the breakroom stemming from how proud he is of someone's development, the fame factor fades in the favor of a deep respect for a man who not only is knowledgeable, brave, and bold, but cares just as fiercely.
There have been at least twenty students who have called him "dad" completely on accident, and while he is somewhat flattered it mostly just stresses him out.
