Because the Overworld has direct view of the stars and the height limit, its inhabitants often speak to the night sky to connect with their ancestors and deceased connections. The best way to honor the dead, to those bron of the overworld, is typically through giving them updates on what you've been up to and what you're doing to improve yourself to be a good descendent.
The ritual is typically very casual and can be done whenever the sky is in view, but most try to connect at night time when the stars are brightest and easiest to see.
