Cradle City

Cradle City is a modern, if not weatherbeaten, island of civilization in the frigid waters of the North Atlantic. A free city state, it operates under the leadership of a President and cabinet, backed by the Corporations, particularly Green Cradle Initiatives. Here, the corporations are pushing development of sustainable energy tech, deep sea farming initiatives, and geothermal study. It is also a resort town, with Casinos, Hotels, and even a Biotechnica operated ‘New Nature’ reserve that attracts the wealthy from across the world.   Underneath the veneer of respectability, however, Cradle City is a land of two halves. The President may be in charge, but he jumps whenever GCI says so, and the Corpos effectively run the city. Under this structure, the rich are getting ever richer, building outlandish estates and structures on the solid and ever expanding base of Cradle Island, while the poor grow sick and malnourished in the tight streets, slums, and the floating districts.
