Thea Destino

Thea Destino

The only child of a prominent family, Thea Destino was born in Aelia. Being an only child, she was pampered and loved heavily by her family. Though she was a sun elf, she was not gifted in magic like her father, Sebastian and mother, Sofia. The least she could do was muster a puff of less than pleasant smoke. Her mother, was always tough on her, yet she wanted the best for her. One day she took it too far. In a moment of anger because no progress was being made, her mother slapped her across her face. Thea was taken aback. "Wait... I didn't mean" Holding back tears, she ran away from her. She tried to lose her mother in the savanna using the tall grass. Despite her vision being blurry, she kept running forward. After she thought she ran a good distance away, she fell to the floor. She wiped her eyes. As her vision became clearer, she was taken a back by the strange landscape that surrounded her. "Where am I..." she thought out loud. The ground she was on was strange. It was as if she was on the ocean floor. Coral reefs jutted from the ground. Aquatic life floated through the air. It was all surreal. "It seems you've found your way to my territory... I don't really get many visitors..." a soothing female voice echoed from behind her. "Tell me child... Why did tears flow down your face?" She turned to face a long white serpentine body curled around a reef, the peering above it. Its whiskers flowed through the air majestically. Thea almost forgot why she ran away in the first place. "I... I wasn't crying!" she denied, though the proof was in the pudding. She tried turning around quickly, but she lost her balance, falling onto her butt. "Sss ss ss" the creature made a strange noise, almost like it was laughing. "So if you aren't crying, that means I can eat you, right?" it said suddenly. "Eep..." Thea's face went pale. "I... I was...-" before she could continue, the creature darted towards her. Thea braced herself, sure she this was her end. As she closed her eyes, she found herself in what seemed to be an embrace. "There it is again... You cry when you have found yourself in a situation that would leave you dead, yet those tears are for a different reason." Hearing the voice from near her, Thea opened her eyes. In front of her stood a woman with aqua blue hair with sea green eyes. Thea assumed this was the creature from before. Her hair and green kimono kept flowing, as if she was underwater. Scales jutted out of her head in place of ears. Her bottom half still remained the same, albeit to a smaller degree, yet she had no problem remaining off the ground. She wiped the tears from Thea's face. "Please child. I mean you no harm." Thea, regaining her composure, explained her situation to the water spirit. The whole time, she laid her head on the woman's tail. Her expression remained calm and understanding, keeping Thea at ease. After Thea was done, the woman helped her to her feet. "I understand..." the woman assured her. "That must've been a very difficult situation for you. Would you like to remain here with me for a couple days? Take the time to cool off and relax." The offer surprised Thea. "I may, but only if we introduce ourselves. During my stay, I would feel bad if I only referred to you as serpent lady." The woman laughed. "I'm Yaeyuna. I'm not a serpent. I'm a dragon." she explained. "Not like other dragons...yet a dragon nonetheless." Her expression turned to sorrow as she uttered the word dragon. "Hey.." as Thea reached out to comfort her, Yaeyuna quickly brushed whatever thought she had away. "Let's get going, shall we?" she transformed back into her true form. She gestured as if to say get on. With a look of excitement, Thea got on.
